Impale animation

I'm trying to make a throw-type move, one that tosses the enemy into the air and stuns them. So, naturally, Impale seemed like the ability to base it on.

Problem is, even with both the Ability art and the Buff art not just changed, but completely removed, I still see that little spike underneath the target when they're launched into the air. (not the wave of spikes from impale, but the long ones that pop up underneath the targets).

Any ideas on how to get rid of it? I'm sure it's possible, as I doubt Blizz would hardwire something as simple as target art into an ability.

Thanks in advance! :)

Nevermind, false alarm. *sigh* I found it five seconds after I posted.

There's Impale the ability, which references Impale the buff, which THEN references Impale the EFFECT. Sheesh.

at least you have taught others to see if an ability has both a buff and an effect :-)

Well, I thought my problem was fixed, and it was... sort of.

I managed to replace the Impale spike, but it turns out that the spike animation was what was launching the target into the air, not the ability itself. I know of a few moves that do this (cyclone for example) other than Impale. Is there any known way to get my target to be launched into the air without some random spike appearing beneath it?

Did you disable the whole effect or just the art? From your description it seems like you disabled the whole effect.

You can use a trigger.... I'm not exactly sure of how the entire trigger will look but if I remember correctly I spotted a movement height modifier action once... I hope you can find it, if it in fact is there and I'm not just senial :D .

SilverHawk: Right now I put the Impale spike animation back on, and it tosses them into the air just fine. If I remove the animation, nothing happens. If I CHANGE the animation to something unrelated to tossing, then the target disappears (as in, vanish, poof) for the amount of time specified in Air Time in the ability menu, then reappears. If the target flew into the air instead of disappearing, I'd be ecstatic, but it seems this is not the case.

Ok guys, I'm finished (and satisfied) with all of the other custom abilities I've made so far, so now it's back to this one. I'm looking for the trigger action that changes a unit's height, and I can't seem to find one. Where should I be looking?

Somewhere else.

"Animation - change unit flying height".

There's one big problem with that one:
it only works on units whose movement type is "fly".
And you don't want a map full of flyers...

Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

Weekend went by too fast. Next weekend I am going to try to do a nature thing - buddy of mine lives by the Colorado river and has some kayaks and invited me to do some kayaking from a place he knows to get on the river.

The first gate is stopping all the bots that don't execute javascript.
  • Ghan Ghan:
That's the main thing with Anubis - no Javascript, no site. Typically you can still get the site to load without Javascript.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I remember the whole javascript thing, question - how many real people disable that?
  • The Helper The Helper:
Hell I guess I could go back on the stats to know that - we probably capture that and we know the before and after
  • Ghan Ghan:
Real users can't really disable Javascript anymore these days.
