Invalid escape character sequence

Hi all,

I am trying to use a fade filter for my map. However it gives me an error when I try to save it:

"Invalid escape character sequence".

I was able to use this with the normal WE without problems. After installing NEWGEN with EGUI however, I seem to keep receiving errors with this action.

Does anybody know a fix?

This error occurs when you use '\' in path string. If you want to use backslash, you have to write '\\'.

In the GUI Action list 2nd from the top is 'Comment' which I believe is the same as // is in Jass.

It's not // but \\ . And I don't know if it's is your case, I know it makes same error.
Try to "remake" functions that use path strings, for example Special effects.

No, you misunderstand.

What I'm saying is that a GUI action is causing my map to crash:

Fade Filter: Create a black mask etc etc

It gives me an error: "Invalid escape character sequence", hence the thread title. So I'm asking for a fix.

Then skippy says:

So I responded with a "Eh? How do you use // in GUI?" This basically means "It is impossible to be a // error because the GUI action doesn't allow me to use '/'."

I dont use JASS. Its a fade filter thats giving me the problem. And its in GUI. Cant use \\ or //.

And I did try remaking. Didnt work.

It's more likely that the path of the filter itself is typed incorrectly.

EGUI don't have any error in script (compile fine), try to update the jasshelper
