Every single time I try to use a custom model in a game, it's invisible and there is just a shadow on the ground. Please help me with this :/. I know I'm a noob
The invisiable model means that it isnt placed properly and cant find it, or it does but its having a issue opening it. what you need to do is as follows
Place the .Mdx (Model File) in the warcraft folder, when adding a model to my warcraft folder it is like this
C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Model.mdx
The Skin is placed in the same way.
C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Skin.tga (tga is usualy what i use)
Once the files are properly placed, import them into World Editor.
Rename the path of the model in the import manager to just the model name and here is a example
if the file was named
tiny.mdx
when its imported into World editor it will look like this
war3mapImported\tiny.mdx
Check the box that says use custom path and change it to as follows
tiny.mdx
(Mistake) The skins have to have the "Textures" in the custom path and ill show as follows
Uh why place the model in the warcraft directory? That might just be the bad idea - if you did something wrong the model will probably work for you, but not for the rest of the world.
Just import it with the proper paths.
As far as i know its just suppost to go there as well as it has alway worked for me and once the maps all done and saved you can just remove the models.
As far as the shadows go, i honestly have no other ideas on what to do to help you with it. sorry.
The model isnt found. that simple. Thats what it means and usualy when you open the map in the editor it will have in yellow text of saying the path and model not found.
Unless the skin was customised; people tend to forget the sections of alpha channels need to be white for visible and black for invisible. If they follow the tutorial for ULEAD skinning using Photoshop, what they do won't work. Select means select in Photoshop. Select mean create alpha channel in ULEAD. The two are not the same.
Trust me. I know what I'm talking about. I've done skinning so many times and helped so many people with skinning problems, I dont find it funny anymore.
Anyway the original poster hasn't given enough info yet for us to determine what is the problem. My alpha channel comment was only a suggestion. Fact is I've seen many problems with alpha channels when people don't know how to use / make them. One of them is that the model is invisible in the game. The model is selectable, but you can't see anything, only the shadow. (Which you can turn on or off in the Object editor anyway.)
Edit: After having looked at the links and the comments from the links in this thread, I think alpha channels has nothing to do with the problem. I'm guessing in that case, since many other people are fine with the downloading and importing the said models, that the original poster has either imported the model incorrectly, or written some of the model paths incorrectly. Honestly I have no idea where the problem could be unless cheeto515 describes his importing process step by step.
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
