i'm not sure if it's safe to download audio galaxy since i have experienced some flaws with it (something taht mess up my brower real bad and sometimes it looks like somebody hacked my computer)

anyway i was just wondering if it's perfectly ok to download audio galaxy

also i'm using tiny software personal fire wall right now, if you have a better suggestion, please tell me (please no zone alarm, that's totally commerciallized...)

AudioGalaxy should be safe since you have a firewall installed. Just make sure you pay close attention to the setup process and skip the spyware installation.

I would recommend Morpheus. It's safe and spyware free.

well... for some reason, after morpheus preview version came out, most of the item i use to be able to download cannot be found when i enter it into the search field, second, it is hard to find a person with faster connection to download from since it's p2p

tiny is a good firewall .
p2p programs can be a dangerous . But if u wanna be totally safe you never connnect to the internet anymore hehe
not an option so is not using p2p proggies hehe

oh also i use to use winamp, even though it's a good mp3 player but it conflicts with the other programs i use to much, um... any suggestions on a new mp3 player? which has simple coding so it won't conflict with my other programs

1st edit: oh also, is there anyway to convert brites (e.g. convert a mp3 file 96kpbs to 128kpbs) with out converting them to wave first and then convert to mp3 with the brite i want it?

um... a little help here... thanks... also i think it's the same person keep asking for the cd key... pay attention to the ip you guys logged

Converting a 96kb mp3 to a 128kb mp3 would only bloat the file size, it woulnd't make it sound any better. If you want a higher bitrate you would need a copy of the original sound file and encode it yourself.

1st: no convert from 96kpbs to 128 kpbs will make the quality better

2nd: you don't need the original sound, you can just use a mp3 decoder decode it to wave and then use a mp3 encoder encode it to the brite you want, but that's too much work

barbforlife is right, Morpheus is useless. With IMesh I was getting my maximum possible download speed since it has the smart feature of downloading from multiple users at once. The only problem with IMesh is it was full of Spyware. What MP3 search tool would everyone recommend ?

By the way, I checked the IP of the users asking for CD-Keys. Barbforlife was right indeed - The same user posted twice.

I would like to recommend DirectConnect to the category best P2P program out there. I would never use anything else.

it enables those bands you're stealing off of to make more music, and helps the support for up and coming new and good bands.

No, that's not correct. 96 bps means 'bits per second'. It means that the encoder takes 96 samples every second. Converting a 96bps song to 128bps will make no difference to the quality, since the 32 bps you gain isn't actually there in the first place.

It's kinda like printing a picture at a resolution of 600dpi, then scanning it in at 2000 dpi and printing the scan at 2000dpi - You still only have a 600dpi image because there were only 600 pixels per square inch to begin with.

get a grip :P

then what's the difference between a 96kpbs mp3 file and a 128 kpbs mp3 file? is it the MHz that matters with the quality?

im fine with the ones we have already...

That means the quality of the MP3 is higher, which means it takes up more space on your hard drive. Usually 128 is normal quality for MP3's...256 is near CD-Quality.

I use audiogalaxy sometimes, but popular songs are blocked off because of pressure from the copyright people.
Anything that uses the Gnutella network is good. Or, you could go buy the band's CD.

How often does the Trending Content box refresh?
  • The Helper The Helper:
Also, in the last template there was a seperation between sticky threads and regular threads in the forum
  • Ghan Ghan:
Not sure. It's probably part of a cron job.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Hey Ghan, whatever cron job its part of its not running its been the same for days. If it does not work can we remove it?
  • The Helper The Helper:
    LOL! A tweak job!
  • The Helper The Helper:
this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Next on the punch list: Update the server to Ubuntu 24.04.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Mad Lads is new I see it displays original post date
  • The Helper The Helper:
as long as it changes it is good - it is good now it updated and its new stuff

One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
  • The Helper The Helper:
oh wow, i bet i can post x links now and do the webp pics now giggity
  • The Helper The Helper:
ahh anubis blocks anyone that has javascript turned off
