Hello may be my first post here :)

Is it possible to add more buildings to the build menu of say the Acolyte.

I would like to be able to add the Shipyard to the existing menu without taking any buildings out or would I need to add build Shipyard to the items menu?

Currently I have two different builder units (the other building the Shipyard)and it is preferable to only have one. So is it possible to be able to scroll down a builder menu as currently all slots are taken?

Would be a nice idea to have a scrolldown menu in wc4... but its not possible :(

You could base the ability off 'build small farm' or something, the duration is the building time and since its acolyte he will leave when it starts anyway xD

you could make a new unit for undead and make it be able to make the shipyard
maybe call the unit watersoul or something :)
you might also add an ability that makes it so a ziggurat can make the watersoul.
hope i helped :D

Did I miss something here? He already has two units...he wants one.

Anyways, I'd have to say that your best bet would be to have two units if you wanted to keep your editing simple. However, if you're one of those types that wants to dig around in everything like I usually do, then I would have to say custom scripting would be your best choice. I don't know much about scripting yet, but I do know that it can do quite a bit. You could probably figure out a way to add a function that acts as a button entitled something such as "More Buildings" or something. When clicked, this button would go to the next menu of buildings. You would also then have a previous buildings button, of course...if you have Age of Empires, play a game of that to see what I am talking about.

Sorry I could not be more help, but these are probably your two best bets. Sometimes, you've either got to deal with a workaround, or really spend some time on it to figure it out, and I would have to say that this is likely one of those instances. If it's any consolation to you, I am having to make that decision on one of my maps right now.

Use a spellbook! Use "Tiny Barracks" "Tiny Farms" as your base spells and add them to the book!

I think those cost mana, not resources.

Why not make the acolyte able to morph into another acolyte?

And is it possible to add abilities to a build menu and if so how?

I've found at the begining of Azeroth Grand Prix that you can choose between units at the start using a pair of arrow abilities and so naturally I want them if possible to be added to a units build menu. Not sure how they make it so that the karts can be chosen from different unit menus though?

Still a lot to learn.

yes it is possible, i dont know y these other ppl didnt mention it,

what you need to do is edit the build(undead)(or something like that)
this is an ability that you will find under unit abilities, in that ability you should find a value that lists what buildings this unit can build, all you need to do is edit this list, so that it includes your custom building, this should allow you to build the building.

another thing that you could try is making a custom build ability and including any/all buildings that you want the unit to build.

hope this helps :)

Yeah MooMooman I know that but and I quote myself here "without taking any buildings out" because currently all the slots are out. I can add buildings fine to the build menu. That Azeroth Grand Prix startup seems the way to go but I just have to get it to work with the individual build menus. Trust me to take the hard way :)

Guys just a heads up I am going to be shutting the site down soon. I am just waiting on the NUON people to decide whether they want to transfer forum data and keep the discord. My email is [email protected] for anyone that wants to keep in touch and I have a facebook too. I will make an official post later. Love you guys and will miss everyone!

Someone email AtariAge and see if they want me to transfer the forum data over to it
  • Ghan Ghan:
Could probably keep NUON stuff around here if we wanted.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Hmm what to do about the World Editor site though?
  • Stephen Stephen:
I'd rather personally just own a backup of the Nuon data than see it go to AtariAge honestly. If it gets enshittified as per usual, or if some of the "regular" Jaguar folks get there, it's not gonna be fun
  • The Helper The Helper:
There will be a github of the forum data so the NUON Forum Data I guess would be available there
  • The Helper The Helper:
World Editor is technically Ryoko stuff not mine you guys can keep that I am not in that even
  • jonas jonas:
:( end of an era :(
  • The Helper The Helper:
Dont think of it as an end jonas - think of it as a beginning, because really my friend that is what it is.
  • A Andyoyo:
Thank you for the hard work over the years. It did not go unnoticed.
