Is this story "realistic" enough?

When I finally finished my map "Burning to Avenge", I realised that its story was totally unrealistic, and had a real bad, even almost childerly story.
It had almost a happy end.

Before I continue making my new levels, "An Impotent Scream for Vengeance", I want to be sure that it's realistic enough.

(Chapter one)
Kael has been seperated from his men when he fled in panic, half-disturbed by his impotent fury and grief… He searches for his men. Realizing that he cannot avenge his people, and would only succeed in bringing his people into the hands of death (literally and figurative) by trying so, he flees from this forsaken place (Icecrown).
(Chapter two)
Days later, Kael meets a watchpost of the very few dwarves that remain outside the underground caves of Asjol-Nerub. The dwarves spread into whole Asjol-Nerub, but Arthas had no intention to slaughter them all, but to reach Icecrown. Thus, there were dwarves remaining. The dwarves had no new leader, but one of them, Therdon, had most influence on the others. He would propably be the new leader of Baelgun's dwarves, besides the very few on Theramore Isle. Kael and the Blood Elves had a new ally. They and the Dwarves had a common foe and goal: Vengeance upon the undead. However, even the combined might of the remaining Blood Elves, Naga and Dwarves won't suffice to destroy the Lich King (Arthas). They had to evacuate the dwarves before they could leave. However, the dwarves where all seperated from eachother.
(Chapter three)
Finally, after months, the new Alliance (Naga, Dwarves and Blood Elves) reached the shore. One of their scouts reports that the undead are trying to destroy the boats to prevent the new Alliance to escape. Kael succeeds in keeping them from destroying the boats, and leaves Northrend, unknowing where to flee…
To be continued…

What about now? Even I don't know where they have to flee. To Kalimdor? No… There are to many civilizations there: Night Elves, Humans, Tauren, Ogres, Trolls, Orcs. They would have to many allies, and not enough lands which where never touched to explore. Azeroth? No… There are too many humans there. As well as in Khaz Modan (Dwarves). The Broken Isles? No, too small. And certainly not Lordaeron: Too unsafe. Perhaps I should invent a new island or something?

First of all, before making a story you should always plan it out. The Warcraft creators didn't just make it up as they went along, you know. And second of all, yes you should create an uncharted island or something. Some place where nobody has been before. You know... For example make Keal get caught up in a storm or something and maroon him on some uncharted island. There he finds it very suitable to stay there; Arhtas can't find it, its uncharted, etc. But that's just my opinion.

Oh, by the way ps. I need help putting the Dark Rangers Damage to 1000-1001

Thanks. Stupid of me that I always -or most of the time- didn't prepare the story.
Hmm… Or perhaps this is a suitable scenario also: They go back to Lordaeron or Quel'Thalas, and try to retake their lands.

For the Dark Ranger question:
Go to the editor, search for "Dark Ranger" in the Hero category in the Neatral Passive race, and search for "damage", under the combat category. The change that it does 1 more damage depends on the attack dice. Change it to 1

Err… There once stood a post above this one from Darg…

from Darg: you thought I made an off topic post, I agreed, and so I deleted my post.

How so? The only thing which could be considered as a problem is that it does much less damage against buildings.
I've made a "Beta Tester" unit in my first level, which had 1000 attack damage. I used that unit much without problems.

But back on topic please.

I could also make Kil'Jaeden occur in some level. Perhaps an interlude. Perhaps I could make him send a demonic army to defeat the new Alliance of Blood Elves, Dwarves and Naga? Hmm… If Kil'Jaeden wants to destroy the Blood Elves, he will send the whole army of the Burning Legion to them if necessary. And then it would require a whole game to complete the story. In fact, Kil'Jaeden would try (and probably succed) to come to the earth and destroy the Blood Elves. I don't want the Blood Elves to be totally finished, so Kil'Jaeden should have to fall… But then the Legion is undone! Kil'Jaeden is the master of the Legion, the last Lieutenant of the dark titan (Sargeras).
*Sigh* It gets complicated…

Sorry for the double post. It's just to bring the topic back to life.

Perhaps I could make Kil'Jaeden offer Kael another chance to destroy the Frozen Throne? One thing is for sure: The Frozen Throne may not be destroyed, and the Blood Elves may be extincted.

Why don't you like make him find an island, get time to get renforcements, and then retake thier land...

How often does the Trending Content box refresh?
  • The Helper The Helper:
Also, in the last template there was a seperation between sticky threads and regular threads in the forum
  • Ghan Ghan:
Not sure. It's probably part of a cron job.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Hey Ghan, whatever cron job its part of its not running its been the same for days. If it does not work can we remove it?
  • The Helper The Helper:
    LOL! A tweak job!
  • The Helper The Helper:
this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Next on the punch list: Update the server to Ubuntu 24.04.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Mad Lads is new I see it displays original post date
  • The Helper The Helper:
as long as it changes it is good - it is good now it updated and its new stuff
  • The Helper The Helper:
One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
  • The Helper The Helper:
oh wow, i bet i can post x links now and do the webp pics now giggity
