item restrictions

i'm trying to make certain items only buyable through a store for certain units.

i.e. swords only for footmen, bows only for archers, axes only for grunts, etc.

i put the unit as a prereq and it does nothing. i put level 1 as well, still nothing. any ideas?

so the tech requirements in the editor don't do jack? i can do triggers, i just thought that since there were tech requirements perhaps i could do it that way. thanks.

Hmm...

Even if you do get tech requirements working, they'd still be able to have another player buy it for them. So you'd better do what Vex says.
