Its wont load at all

When i start the game it will run the logo for a few seconds then quit working and leave me at the desktop

I have a similar problem

When the level is loading or when I have to pick a spawn point (I think that's what it's called), the game freezes and sends me back to windows.

AMD 2500+
Windows 2000 SP4
Directx 9.0b
512mb DDR 333mhz
Geforce4 MX 440 64mb

also, I sometimes see a message that says windows has referenced a memory location that it can't use

I get the same, it is so annoying, when i first got my pc battlefield 1942 used to work fine, since then i have reinstalled windows xp twice. I have now installed battlefield 1942 again to my pc and it installs ok. But the PROBLEM is whenever i double click the battlefield 1942 icon the screen goes black for a few seconds then returns to desktop and makes an error sound what can i do?

I began having that problem a few days ago. Uninstalling and then reinstalling Battlefield did the trick for me.
