About the function.. I think I already self taught my self about it.. It something like:

JASS:
function blahblah takes integer a, unit b returns nothing
local integer c = 0
loop
exitwhen c > a
call CreateUnitsLoc(b,<something>)
set c = c + 1
endfunction

More or less this is how functions work.

Basically they take somthing and return somthing.

You can think of a function like this:

Code:
[B]function[/B] [I]name[/I] [B]takes[/B] [I]somthing[/I] [B]returns[/B] [I]somthing[/I]

Example:

JASS:

function worms takes integer a returns integer
  return a * 3
endfunction

If you want to take several things you seperate with a comma.

JASS:

function worms_rock takes integer a, unit b, player c returns nothing
  // Do somthing
endfunction

You can also take nothing but still return somthing

JASS:

function pink_worms takes nothing returns player
  return Player(6)
endfunction

Notice: Return will skip remaining actions so use it wisely.

This is functions in short, however they are much more complicated, this is one of the most facinating features in JASS, too bad the class was over before you got learn about it... I'm thinking about writing a tutorial.

Yeah, they are pretty easy to learn if you have JASSCraft. Just look at a BJ, see what it says: takes type Name, type Name, type Name, returns nothing/something

Sorry to see you're closing the class. That sux

So, I guess its time for me to move into the more advance of Jass.. I've learned enough from this class.. Thank you for teaching me the basics... I'll start resuming my first map.. I halt it because of this... Learn Jass first before creating a map would give me a better feature than GUI could although I know much about GUI......

I was just thinking, I looked over the lessons and I know enough JASS to teach the rest of that.
Anyone want me to post the next few lessons???

Oh, I still haven't checked out those systems.
Once I come to a need for one, I will probably.
But I haven't found a need yet.

I would like to sign-up for the class. I know it's a bit late, but I really want to learn JASS. I read Vexorian's guide to the basics and now I just wanna learn anything I can. I find this very interesting and I'm willing to do the assignments. Thanks in advanced.

go Here , i learnt Jass off Here! now i know basic commands like:
JASS:

function Trig_LearnJassThere_Actions takes nothing returns nothing
    call CreateNUnitsAtLoc( 4, 'ewsp', Player(0), GetRectCenter(GetPlayableMapRect()), bj_UNIT_FACING )
endfunction

//==============================
function InitTrig_LearnJassThere takes nothing returns nothing
    set gg_trg_LearnJassThere = CreateTrigger()
    call TriggerRegisterTimerEventPeriodic( gg_trg_LearnJassThere, 2 )
    call TriggerAddAction( gg_trg_LearnJassThere, function Trig_LearnJassThere_Actions)
endfunction

It was very helpful!! (btw i wrote that ^^^ without looking at JC/WE any of that... xD)

You do realize that you have revived a topic which had an ending post dated on July 2, 2007 right?

And I already learned JASS...:p

    How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
    The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
    I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
    Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
    Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
    And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
    These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
    Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
    Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
    Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
    That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
    I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
    I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

    I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
    It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
    I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
