If you change the name of the trigger in the trigger editor, some other things need to happen.
See what that does for you. Just make NEW_TRIGGER_NAME whatever the name is of your trigger.

I didnt change the name, as you can read above i made trigger and converted it directly. Is my WE fucked? (happend in sandard WE and newgen) :banghead:

E: Only happend in newGen when i tried now, when i changed name of triggers all values changed automaticly. This is what the errors says: undeclared variable gg_trg_MyTrigger

Well, what you might do is take a look at one of my spells like Artillery Barrage.

If you can decipher some of the stuff, you can see that I declare a trigger like this:

JASS:
//===========================================================================
    public function InitTrig takes nothing returns nothing
        local trigger ShockArtillery = CreateTrigger(  )
        call TriggerRegisterAnyUnitEventBJ(ShockArtillery, EVENT_PLAYER_UNIT_SPELL_EFFECT)
        call TriggerAddCondition(ShockArtillery, Condition(function Conditions))
        call TriggerAddAction( ShockArtillery, function ShockArtilleryActions )
    endfunction


That tends to be easier than trying to keep track of the variables, though this was inside a scope.

I don't understand. There shall really not be a problem when I'm just converting trigger directly without changing the trigger name (its the same script right? you just remove the user-interferance). is it perhaps something i have changed in the editor?

I don't really know. I'd have to see exactly what you are doing.

okey i will explain for the third time. This is how i do:
1. i create new map
2. i click on create new trigger
3. i set event: player enters "a" as an exact match (something i dont have newGen in front of me)
4. i create action: display for all players "abc"
5. i go to edit and click convert to custom text
6. i do the syntax check and an error pops up saying undeclared variable. its the seventh line i think and the line is saying set trigger...= Create Trigger ( ) (something like that i don't have newGen in front of me will fix post later)

would be grateful for any help which can help me with this problem and get me started with Jass

With newgen, you never use that button. You use the save button (twice) to check the syntax.

well... it seems that i'm kinda stupid when it comes to JASS but i do my best learn it...

but 1 thing (or actually 1 out of 100.000.000) I dont understand is that, how does it pull of the trigger... wheres the event part? isnt there something that starts the trigger?

could you please add a part in the tuto where it explains how it starts/runs the trigger? (what the event in JASS is)
EDIT: btw this helped me alot with the understanding of JASS, +rep :D

Most of that is covered in the event section of the tutorial. The problem is that there are so many events and so on that is impractical for me to try to showcase them all. The best way to find out how to structure some event in JASS is to create one in GUI and then convert the trigger to JASS.
