kazaa file downloads

This is my first visit to this forum, so if you can't help me I would appreciate it if you can give me a link or forum that can. My problem is with files that I downloaded from kazaa. I cannot delete or move the files in[ my shared folder] that kazaa creates when it installs the program. When I try, it gives me the prompt [Cannot delete file It is being used by another person or program.Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.] What program might they be talking about? The bottom line is when I try to move -delete-drag and drop I get the prompt . Thanks for any help. P.S.

Make sure Kazaa is not running while handling the files.

If kazaa is using the files, then it won't let you move them, if you're listening to the files or even have them sitting in a program that you use to play your music, it won't let you move them. Also if someone is downloading the file from you, you won't be able to move it (that would change the name of the file, and hence the downloader wouldn't be downloading the same file, because it's under a different directory or name.)

You have to exit completely out of them before you can move the files.

moving kazaa files

I still having problems with moving kazaa video files.[Previous post] I downloaded a video file that was 3 seperate downloads.If I try to move or delete I get the prompt that another program or person is using it. I logged off of kazaa, so can someone tell me what is running in the background that is preventing me from working with these files? I created a new folder, in my documents that I thought I could send the video files to, from kazaa shared folder but I dragged and dropped 2 of the files but the 3ird would give me the prompt. Any help please! P.S. I am logged off of kazaa so no one is sharing or using!!

you have to make sure that no other programs are using the file also, not just kazaa.

If Windows Media Player is using the file, you won't be able to move it.

Press Ctr. Alt. Del, if you don't know what programs are running, and go from there.

wmv file problems

I had a previous post about video files I downloaded from kazaa of not be able to move or delete them. When I try to, I get the prompt that some other person or program is using the file. I found out that the file I have the problem with is WMV files. Other files no problem! I opened up task manager>processes but did not recognize any programs relating to kazaa or wmp. At one point I removed Kazaa and it still gave me the prompt. Does any one have any suggestions on how to find out what program could be running in the background to interfere with these files? I can play the files fine I just can't move or delete them. Only WMV files are the problem! Thanks.

Well if you can play it with WMP, then that means that another program isn't using it. So it must not have to do with another program... hmm....

u have to delete it out of the wmp history then try and delete it

also make sure that kazaa does NOT start when windows starts up then restart ur PC and try to delete

Have you tried copying the file and pasting it into the new folder instead of just moving it? More than likely Media Player or your video playing program is using it. Maybe on your playlist or something. Look at your taskbar and close all the programs there. Then try to move it.
