keyboard problem

qJust bout 30 mins go i ws plying wr3 nd my keybord stoped working properly.

qFor exmple

when i push a my fvourites menu pops up
when i push shift q comes up.
when i push alt on the left side of my keybord my fvourites menu pops up
when i push alt on the right side of my keybord \ comes up.

bunch more, sry i cnt type properly without copy nd psting bunch of letter so i cn mke out some words.

i tried shutting down unpluggin keybord pluggin it bck in then restrting but didn't do nything.

i tried clening it but didn't do nything.

hehe i have a simple salution buy a new keyboard
jking although that is the best solution maybe u should unplug it, blow the cord and then plug it back in while comp is off then turn it back and check

Is there another computer in the house that you can borrow a keyboard from to see if that is really the problem and not a keyboard mapping problem in Windows?

is there wy to find out if its problem with windows or the keybord?

Do you have a cordless keyboard, maybe its time to change the batteries.

How old is it... maybe the keys have had it... I remember my old keyboard junk and stuff in it sticky keys all over lol, try shaking it upside down a few times, see what comes out . How long have you had it for?

Yeah, mine too. Give it a little shake upside down theres probably loads of crap stuck inbetween the keys maybe causing some key error or jam underneath.

got a new keyboard and works perfectly fine, thanks for everyones help anyway

When in doubt... replace.... Otherwise... Beat it with a BFH and see what happens. At least you get some theraputic value out of it.

Ryoko told me this, but throw your keyboard in the dish washer, and set it to a cold rinse. Then, let it COMPLETELY dry and see if it starts working again.

Yes, that actually does work about 90% of the time. I prefer to put the keyboard in a tub of hot water, then let it completely dry (took about 1 month before it worked properly again)

hmmmm even wired keyboards? and 1 month cant you just dry it with hair dryer?

he did it didnt work untill 1 month, not 1 month to dry
