press r when falling to your death.

blood toned down, and fixed an exploit allowing people to skip rooms, also restarting now counts towards your death count, will be interesting to see how fewer deaths you can make now ;p.

restarting while alive adds to your death count, it's intentional to stop people from restarting before dying (for example, about to fall into a spike pit)

;p

I wasn't trying not to die, so I got around 150. Too lazy to go try to do it with no deaths. :p

Brand New Version!

http://labs.topaz-games.com/iwbtog/real.html

This is the "Real" version, it contains 3 levels, no traps, it's all based purely on your ability to control the character.

Level 1 : Spike Test - An excersize to get you used to the fact that all spikes kill.

Level 2 : Jump Test - An excersize to get you used to the jumping mechanism (Which is explained at the bottom of the post)

Level 3 : "The Heart breaker" - Based off of an obstacle in a Japanese gameshow known most commonly as "Viking", it tests your ability to use the new jumping machanism.

Level 4 : Athlete - A wall climb followed by a large jump.

Level 5 : Easy-ish - A series of jumps, filled with spikes.

---

The Jumping Mechanism

I've now fixed the player so that you have to tap UP a second time in order to double-jump, as opposed to double-jumping simply by holding the UP key.

Also, if you jump (press UP) whilst touching the side of a wall, you will now jump up in the opposite direction of that wall, similar to rebounding off of a wall, only you don't cling, you immediately rebound.

Basic Wall Jump:

jump1u.jpg

This involves holding down the UP key, and alternating between the RIGHT and LEFT keys in order to push your self from wall to wall.

This method is useful for switching between walls, either when there isn't a full wall to jump to, or if both walls are covered in spikes.

Double Jump:

jump2n.jpg

When wall jumping, release the UP key and tap it again to double jump.

This is useful for jumping around blocks that get in the way, as you will see on levels 3 and 5.

Wall Climb

jump3v.jpg

This involves holding down the RIGHT or LEFT key (depending on the wall you're jumping), and tapping the UP key repeatdly, gaining height whilst avoiding dangerous obstacles.

This is useful for quickly jumping up a safe wall.

---

Good luck, I'd like to see if anyone besides my self can beat level 5 :), use the first 3 levels as practice, and exit the right of the level to enter the next.

Yeah I was. I'm not sure if its just me but *some* times when I press R, my character fill fade in as long as R is pressed and then fade out when I let go.

Maybe just an isolated issue.
On another note, this is tough ><

Some AS codes work differently depending on your OS, I know for one example that a certain method of detecing left-clicking/right-clicking won't work on Macs (fortunately I've been using a work-around since I found this out).

Not sure how that could be affecting you but it's a possibility ;O.

Hmm. Well I'm running on Windows XP

Odd, everything should be working fine.

Either your Flash Player is out-dated (though it would have to be ancient to have problems running this) or it's your browser, or who knows, sounds to me like it's all fine, no idea why it's causing you problems, let's hope it's not everyone D:.

EDIT: Someone on another forum reported the same error, I've made some changes, though they make no difference to me, hope they fix it for you, I can't tell what to fix unfortunately.

EDIT2: The person on the other forum says it's fixed for them :).

Updated with a level pack selector.

Practice Level Pack: Contains the 5 levels in the previous version.

Easy Level Pack: Contains 6 relatively easy levels. Will have 20 levels when it's finished.

  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

  • Varine Varine:
I'm looking at a solid 378 guests, but 3 members. Of which two are me and VSNES. The third is unlisted, which makes me think its a ghost.

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
