Hello,

I need help from you guys.
I've trying to set up a lan network between two computers with one using Windows 98 SE and the other is Windows ME.
On Windows ME, it runs smoothly, Diablo CAN detect my TCP/IP IP address and i can host/join a game.
But the problem is, on Windows 98 SE, Diablo CANNOT detect my TCP/IP IP address, so i cannot host or join any game.

I am sure i have done the same to both computers, using the required drivers. But it seems the computer with Windows 98 SE had problems.

I've tried running winipcfg on the computer, but i cannot find my LAN card there. The strange thing is, on controlpanel-->network, i can found my lan card along with TCP/IP protocols. I have entered the right IP address on the protocol, but somehow winipcfg and diablo cannot recognize it.

Please, anyone who can help me, let me know via e-mail or just post here.
THANKS.

Try completely uninstalled the NIC and all services/clients and protocols with it. Do several clean boots with it out. Then reinstall the NIC and give it a shot. You may have to set IP addresses for both computers. If you need to do this use 192.168.1.(1-254) and the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 . I'm not really certain how you have the computers set up, or how you have then networked or attached to the internet so this is just a round about troubleshoot.

You also need to make sure they are using the same work groups 98 uses workgroup and mellimun uses somehting else( i cannot remember)so make sure they are useing the same.

Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

Weekend went by too fast. Next weekend I am going to try to do a nature thing - buddy of mine lives by the Colorado river and has some kayaks and invited me to do some kayaking from a place he knows to get on the river.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    That sounds like an adventure.

400 users all online all looking at latest content
  • The Helper The Helper:
I wonder how all these bots that sit on the lastest content page get passed anubis or maybe they did not but they are just registering on whos online
  • The Helper The Helper:
showing up on whos online not registration
  • Ghan Ghan:
The first gate is stopping all the bots that don't execute javascript.
  • Ghan Ghan:
That's the main thing with Anubis - no Javascript, no site. Typically you can still get the site to load without Javascript.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I remember the whole javascript thing, question - how many real people disable that?
  • The Helper The Helper:
Hell I guess I could go back on the stats to know that - we probably capture that and we know the before and after
  • Ghan Ghan:
Real users can't really disable Javascript anymore these days.
  • Ghan Ghan:
The internet is broken without it.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Bot readable, not human usable.
  • The Helper The Helper:
    got it
