leaving warcraft III?

when starcraft 2 comes out, is anyone still gonna continue making warcaraft maps. I ask this cause there are a lot of good unfinished warcraft maps out there and I was wondering if those maps are still going to be worked on.

I personally am still going to stick to warcraft maps because there will be very few custom graphics that will not look out of place with the normal terrain and doodads. that means that there will probably be very few (if any) fantasy maps, and I like those.

so, is anyone going to stay with warcraft?

I won't. Infact my wc3 mapping career is only practise for SCII.

Chances are most wc3 players will move to Sc2 and no more wc3 maps will have the change to become too popular. So no, I don't expect many people to stay with wc3.

For me, I will move on to starcraft 2, as its just a better engine. (At least i figure as much, but not used it yet).

I will enjoy starcraft 2 online, likey. But the custom games were always my thing.

Starcraft 2 will likely add alot of functionality and make current functionality thats in warcraft 3 easier to use for map makers. Thus funner custom games.

I will still play warcraft 3 some and some of its custom games Mainly dota as i have alot of friends i play it with almost weekly. But As i still played starcraft when warcraft came out, but i slowly moved over, and its been almost 3 years since i played starcraft. I think it will be very much the same.

Depending on how things go, it will take me 1-2 years after it comes out to be 99% done playing warcraft 3.

im probobly still gunna stay with wc3 till about 3 years after release cuz i aint getting any new comps soon and my current most likely wont support sc2, and even when i get it il still prolly be playing wc3 for a longer while till i fully stop playing.

I don't think SC2 will be zomgish nice. Ok, good engine etc, but WC3 is the ultimate shit.

I wish blizzard could create wc4! WoW took all light though..

It all depends if SCII has leveling heroes and abilities. If it does then I would move to sc2, but if not.....screw it!

I would probably go to Sc2. However, I would probably try to incorporate Wc3 into Sc2 just because I love the themes of Warcraft.

So just as people make starcraft or diablo maps for Wc3, I will probably make Wc3 (or generally warcraft) maps for Starcraft. =D

Of course, I will probably still make maps themed for Starcraft, but it is fun to incorporate other games into a different game... At least for me.

I was thinking the same.
Then I realised I never used the Wc3 theme in any maps I started anyway.
