I've managed to successfuly implement custom missiles for all ranged attacks (thanks to Kenny's system), finally finished the attack system which includes triggered damage, critical strikes, damage blocks, misses, dodges, lifesteal, damage returns, attack stuns and other stuff which can be now added in like two minutes.

Brilliant. This map shall now pwn.

How long time will it take?

No idea, it depends on what everything I'll be doing. However before the first release I have to finish:

recoding hero spells
adding categories and locking items
adding neutral creeps on map (with little terrain edit)

I'll try to do these things as soon as possible. :)

What kind of formula you used to calculate attack damage before armor and resistances for those projectiles?

I didn't need any formula. :)

My system works differently, I saved damage and other stuff for all units in structs, I'm calculating new damage then, which is much better IMO.

So you do something like [lJASS]GetRandomReal(.DamageMin, .DamageMax) + .PrimaryAttribute + .damage[/lJASS] then?

Well, it doesnt really matter, as long as it works.
I just dont wanna die, because my +10000 armor blessing didnt block enemy arrows.

Anyways, I feel like some cool ideas are about to emerge, and Ill post some of them soon...

Omg, I can actually re use this post I made in Xarwins Hive AoS thread.

Have to lol.

Actually, creating a more popular wc3 map than DotA is impossible, because DotA alone has a bigger player base than rest of wc3.


And yea, AoS is indeed a fast paced action game, like Septimus said.
Its all about cool player vs player combat. You need to focus on that.

Cool heroes are everything. They need to look cool. They need to do cool stuff. Thats most important.

Also improving normal wc3 hero system with new mechanics such as Blood Meter, is not a bad idea. You dont neccesarily have to live with only health and mana, for example.

Its hero vs hero combat you need to focus on. Make it interesting and cool and funny and wicked and everybody will love it.

Anyways, that newest version I dowloaded didnt have the new swamp terrain yet. When are we going to see it?

And oh yea, Im not sure if I have said this yet, but make sure that there is enough space between teams towers. ( Id personally make towers only inside base walls, and not at lane at all.. )

In some old version I played, you couldnt really start any cool combat, because there wants enough space for that.

That's actually very good suggestion, I'll remove on tower on the lane, so outside walls there will be only one. Thanks. :)

And for the progress:

- I've recoded 18 spells already, 19 more to go
- I've removed the first towers, so now it's only one tower outside the walls
- I still have a lot of work on items, but that should come after spells

Well, that's all I can say for now, I have two more days of vacation so I should be able to make some larger progress.

    Actually I was just playing with having some kind of mention of the food forum and recipes on the main page to test and see if it would engage some of those people to post something. It is just weird to get so much traffic and no engagement

    The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats

    Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that

    Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality

    Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing

    I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.

    I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
