I like your map.

However you forgot to remove debug messages for your spell, that marine hero has it.. I don't remember name.. it had fire shield icon.. after I casted it, it showed some debug messages. :p

Also that passive spell of his gives buff which has name Berserk, and says units has bloodlust. You should probably change it to name of passive spell. :p

Otherwise good work. Keep it up. :p
 
Wootz, its out!

Tested the new hero a while ago, kinda say I like the two builds he can go for, especially the caster one.

However, I am somewhat disappointed at his fighter build. Strangely, the lifesteal doesn't seem to help me much, especially since Spectral Blade has a massive cooldown.
The fighter build is kinda how I build Nasus (I know you play LoL xD), Critical Strike and damage :p
That undying skill is pretty great, but doesn't fit into either builds very well. For the caster build, you probably won't be taking that much damage. For the fighter build, I find myself out of mana from spamming Spectral Blade.

Instead of simply increasing the base damage for spectral blade, perhaps you should:
a) Reduce cooldown slightly (.5 a level?)
b) Keep mana cost constant.

Great hero though, the modes implemented is something to look forward to in multiplayer :D

:p. Originality died a long time ago and you cant blame anyone.
It's Nasus (Strike, Whirlpool, Lifesteal),
Tryndamere (Undeath),
Gangplank (de-regen, survivability)
and Kunkka! (Ghost ship)

That undying skill is pretty great, but doesn't fit into either builds very well. For the caster build, you probably won't be taking that much damage. For the fighter build, I find myself out of mana from spamming Spectral Blade.
*Undeath also grants +40 increased mana regen (if you didnt notice in the tooltip), enabling you to do some vengeance as you're dying or escaping. Also gives caster build a second wave of spells.

*Forgot a bit about Ghostly Whirlpool on the tooltip.
It lifesteals as it sucks units inward.
because it's really risky to cast it. it grants survivability.

I;ll tweak some aspects of him next time.
Spectral slash as you said,
decreased Str gain to nerf,
increased Agi for fighter build
and increased Lifesteal to buff it up.

Yeah, I noticed the mana regen from Undeath. I do agree that it is very useful, but I didn't use it much, since I was always creeping :p

By the way, any plans on what to do with the honor points (is that what its called?) other than for the bonuses at the beginning of the game?

i bypassed their IP block a long time ago. i have been playing after the block.

probably wont be used in AoS,
in Conquest, it would likely be +/- for control points
in CTF, it will keep track of the cap.

I'd work on AoS mode first.. since it will be easier and wont take that many triggers.
 
You map is pretty good.

Good Things:
-Tries to break free from DotA standards.
-Awsome Heroes. I actually saw no basic and boring stuns or generic slows.
-Cool Item system.
-Nice terrain.
-Unique Spells

But...
Things i think you should improve:
-It's a bit complicated to find out your stats since there are so many.
-Please add some descriptions to your spells even though it is a beta. It would make spelltesting easier.
-Please add some own items. It feels a bit... cheap with the old Wc3 descriptions.
-It feels a bit weird with a Space Marine in Wc3. But that's just me...
-Why does the ranged creeps run so slow?
-Why does the neutral creeps attack me when i attack my enemies?
-Why does my allies ignore the neutral creeps when they attack me? It's pretty annoying...

Keep updating the map and do not abbondon it!
 
what version did you test? latest in the first post was 4.28.10...
and most of the stuff are still temporary.

hmm what?, I made sure the 6 heroes all have complete tooltips before i upload.

well the map's not actually based on WC3 Lore. :p.

Creeps are allied with you and your enemies spawns (yellow and light blue).
I may change that then.
 
It seems i played version 5.14.10... I thought the higher the number the more recent version but... hmm. Oh well. Silly me.

Creeps are allied with you and your enemies spawns (yellow and light blue).
I may change that then.

It's a bit annoying when creeps chase you all the way to your nexus core and kills you...

I really like the new heroes. I love the Scourge of the Seas.
 
i'll *start* working on the nex hero tomorrow.
which will be the new Draenei Paladin. Ideas are final, just more coding to do.

i've been playing with the SC2 editor lately and doing some gaming.. haha.
dont worry, i dont have plans to start a SC2 project anytime in the future.
 
Anything to say about Galaxy editor? I heard its awesome xD

Anyway, looking forward to new hero. Have some tests to study for, can't even turn on the computer (or I'll be too distracted to try and work :p)

The Dranei Paladin is simply awesome~!
I loved how you could build him as a support or a DPS (his does massive damage with his hammer skill).

I personally prefer the DPS build. Somehow, the heal doesn't seem to scale very well. However, the slow from Reckoning is very helpful for your allies.

I think you forgot say that Reckoning adds bonus magical damage to the hero when he attacks the target. Its a wonderful skill, by the way.

For the DPS build, I stacked damage and Critical Chance + Critical Damage. My hammer ended up dealing massive amounts of damage.

I love how Aegis of Valour has different purposes based on your build. It acts as damage in Support Tank build and works wonderfully as a movement abilities for the DPS build.

The hammer doesn't have a duration, which allows you to use the ability right after you trigger the first one (if you time it right). This gives out massive damage, which is purely awesome. However, for the sake of balance, could you implement some form of secondary cooldown for the hammer? It seems to do way too much damage if you use the above mentioned trick. You could always try just giving the hero a buff for 3 seconds and checking for the buff when triggering the hammer. If the hero has the buff, he can't trigger the hammer.

Somehow, I got a massive bug for the hero. Was trying out DPS and just owned the dragon. Replay attached.

i'll check that bug.. probably with the aegis since it's the only periodic IIRC.
(looked it up and i think it's because the dragon died during the casting of Reckoning)


Somehow, the heal doesn't seem to scale very well
i was worried too much will be imba.. numbers will be tweaked next time.

My hammer ended up dealing massive amounts of damage.
i'll take out the sp on that maybe.. (and of course you'll do massive damage when you stack the beta items :p)
and i;ll take that suggestion. thanks.

dont forget it makes you invulnerable.. for dodging multiple spells.

here's the layout by far..

Melee, Burst DPS, Chaser.

[5] Killer Instincts (passive, offense)
> Every 4th attack will deal bonus damage and teleport behind the target.

[4] Certain Death (offense, active, self)
> Attacks will deal DPS bonus and will curse the target.
> Curse reduces any incoming regen

[3] Deceive (point, mobility)
> blinks to the target point.
> the nearest enemy in range of the target point will be pulled towards him.

[2] Shadow Scythes (point target, line damage)
> Throws his 2 kamas... *WILD AXES* haha.
> applies Certain Death if active.

[1] ???? (some active damage dealing spell)
