-Level Info data missing or invalid. Help?

Hey my friend just got an error while trying to open a map that his partner and him had been working on and its the most current version of their map. Any idea what could cause this error?

-Level Info data missing or invalid.

I told them I would try to figure it out but I can't seem to be able to do so. Any help would be nice.

zerox wouldnt steal maps or deprotect them. Shes not like that. and her+ her friend have been working on it for a while

1) I don't know zerox
2) Not once did 'she' mention that it was her map.

well i know her from other forums and stuff, and shes making like 3maps so im thinking this is one of those maps.

are they using WEU?
JNGP?
did WE(or any of they above) give errors last time map was saved?

WEU-->Anything else results in errors.
JNGP-->Anything else results in you needing JNGP.

Okay it isn't my map. It is a map being done by Bslayer Brett And Mk-Diablo at wc3u. None the less they asked for my assistance because they got an error. And I am typically good at fixing the errors for them. I know they didn't try to protect it. I'll ask them for more info. Thank you.

That doesn't mean the map is protected. It means it's corrupted and sadly there's usually no way to bring it back. Hopefully they (you?) have a backup.

Well since I couldn't find a way to save it nor could you guys they reverted back to a backup that was 2 days old. They got the map back up to what it was or at least close now. Thanks for trying.

It could have been corrupted if you have ever opened it with a MPQ Editor.

This includes tools which optimize your map, by opening them via mpq.dll's.
