I think it's unhealthy to lie out of habit, especially to yourself - as for other lies, you guys like justifying them, but I am not convinced of how much good that does in the long run

let me ask you this: should a parent lie to an adopted child about being adopted? (assuming that they were the same race and it was possible to deceive the child) and until what age?

because I wanted a real answer, not "if they want to" - I would view this as a important issue, something that should be thought about prior to adopting a child, and planned out in advance

How is that not a real answer? If they want to lie about the kid being adopted, then they can go for it. Admittedly it might be harder for some, like the white parents that have a black kid or homosexual couples, but if they want to that's their choice. Not yours.
