Lightning effects

What exactly does lightning effects do in the ability editor? Like what would they do if i put them on an ability based on war stomp?

and another question how do you put images in your replys? I see the IMG up top but then it makes me give an http:// adress.

the lightning effect only works for some spells, and it can be tough to say which ones do and don't work. It basically just adds a shot of lightning to the spell, depending on which lightning you are using. Like some lightnings shoot down from the sky, others go from one unit to another etc.

Lightning has to be specified in a separate field because the lightning sfx are not 3d models they are blp files. Just think of them as being projectiles and missiles for the sake of simplicity though. Here you see an example of it being used in the aerial shackles spell. If you know what the spell does, you can understand intuitively what part this field plays in the spell.

you can't add lightning effects to spells that don't already have them? Is that right.
