Limitations of channel?

Hey,
I have a problem. It seems like you can't get the "Channel" spell to apply buffs, and it doesn't seem like you can give the channel spell a missile either. Is this true or am I just stupid and doing something wrong as usual? :p

You can't use it to directly apply buffs, though you can use a dummyspell for this. As for applying a missile art, if your attemps failed then I guess it's not possible, never tried it myself.

Yeah seems like it, been trying for AGES to create a simple damage spell that uses a missile and HAS NO MINISTUN. Until I finally had the idea that I could use channel, give it a missile and trigger the damage. Seems even that didn't work tough. :( I really have no idea how I should create this kind of spell now (Acid Bomb is not an option)

How come Acid Bomb is not an option? Set it's AoE to 0, no duration and you should be good to go.

Because the same unit already uses another spell based of acid bomb :banghead:
This is getting ridicolous :p

You could base it off of channel then order a dummy to cast the real spell based on Acid Bomb.

Hmm yeah... still it's a pity that Blizzard couldn't include something as simple as a missile, direct damage spell :p (Shadowstrike wont work either, I am very tight on spells left). Still, if a dummy unit casts it, wont it look like the missile is coming from somewhere else than from the casting hero?

No. Make the dummy spawn at the location of the casting hero. Also, make your unit the same model file of your hero.
