ok i just got a new game, ff8 for pc, i know its old but i happen to like this game..anyway..when i play it, it has like lines going all the way down the screen...strange lines that change color and stuff...they are about an inch apart..but, there is no lines when im in battle mode, or on the field..the game dosent run laggy, and everything else looks normal..its just those damn lines..im using ''direct 3d'', there is also an option for software rendering, that eliminates the lines. but makes it insanely laggy..

First of all, what operating system are you running?

If its windows XP, then I believe that there is a patch availible to fix certain problems.

If not, try browsing to the folder where final fantasy is installed to (C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy) and running finalfantasy config, of ffconfig, something with a similar name.

If you open it, try disabling direct 3d, and messing around with your video settings.

I know when I played final fantasy on my system the picture was upside down and I had to download a special patch.

Also, Final fantasy doesnt work so well with win2k.
