can you give me the tga version of it please?

edit: it appears you didn't RESIZE the image to 512x512, you actually CROPPED it to 512x512. Take a look at your image, and see how normal it appears. Its not supposed to appear normal if you have done things correctly. It should look squashed.

Assuming there is a part of the image you have cutout (which is probably the case), then I do need your original image. tga or jpg will do.

dude i would like to place it i would have done it a while ago but they take more than 512 k so i can't place them. thats y i wanted it to have less size cause the blp is 332 k which is bad and is that is gonna be the size i m not gonna even use it at all cause the map would then be almost 800 k!!!!! but i will try to put the tga here.

after you use winzip on the tga graphic, what size is it?

and how big is the jpg version of the graphic?

dude the jpg is 3 meg. and i didn't use winzip on those i did winzip on the blp i guess doing it on the tga would help the most. the tga is 1.37 mego too. and i used punctiation on that 1. i put in exclametion points.

hmm I got no clue why the pics are that big, I can take a 1152x864 screenshot and save it as jpg, and it wont be much bigger than 100k.

It sounds to me like the picture is actually a bitmap, it just says jpg for some reason.

ok the targa that is 1.37 is a 800 x 600 was the smallest i could get it without smashing it. so i don't know what to do u have the blp so is there a way that u could make it take up way less space and make it not be smashed?

i compressed the jpg and now it is 732k, is that good? and in paint i make it a 1152x864 then after i do that also in paint with the same pic i make it a 512x512 it seems pointless to make it 1152x864 in the first place.

I was just using 1152x864 as a way of saying I can save big pictures as jpegs and they will turn out much smaller than what you are getting.

You are using MS paint to save jpgs you say? I just saved an 1152x864 jpg with paint and it was 170k. I then saved a 24-bit colour bitmap and it was about 2.8mb.

This confirms my suspicion that those pictures you have are not jpgs, they are bitmaps. Do you not have a jpg option when saving the pictures?

they were JPEGs but it is so cool right now the file suddenly changed to 158 k. so i m still wondering in irfanview do i make it 512x512? cause the file size of a 1152x 864 is 158k in irfanview.

when i save it as a TGA it becomes 1.37 meg. i don't know y it did that but it did.

i wil make a new post and post the JPEG there but what i need is where do u think i can find the minimap at?

about your guy's argument about the jpg size, an uncompressed jpeg can easily be over 1 meg, and when you goto save the file most programs let you set a compression vs quality ratio but I don't think mspaint does.

well its up to dark how he wants to fill it, I'm just giving him what he wants. Its possible for the screenshot to stretch the entire width, but there's still gonna be black areas.

uncompressed jpeg is a contradiction in terms, jpeg is a compression standard, you cannot have an uncompressed compressed file, that makes no sense.

there is compression vs. quality yes, but the difference is not several mb, its up to 50-100k depending on the image size.

i had a 1.37 mb bitmap

at %100 quality it was 173 kb jpg
at %50 quality it was 23 kb jpg
