Local area net on battle.net

I am trying to start a game with one pc, and join with another. Is this allowed on battle.net? I always get a "unable to join game" error message. I can join a game that someone else creates, with both pc's. I have dsl with a good latency on both pc's, and am using a smc barricade router. I have a feeling that being both pc's having the same ip through the router, may have something to do with it. Can someone help me, or has someone pulled it off before?

With LAN you can make games and the other guy can join IF your comps are networked... I dont really get what your asking though...

Blizzard lists it as a known issue (that people sharing an internet connection might have trouble in the same game -- trouble including being dropped, extreme lag, or being unable to join at all)

It is recommended that you have someone outside your LAN create the game, although this doesn't guarantee that everything will still work

Some people, on the other hand, seem to be able to pull it off

I used to have this problem in StarCraft. But I have never seen it in Diablo II. Guess I was lucky on that part.

What happened to me in StarCraft was usually things like;
I create and he tries to join. He gets the error message; latency to high. Then we switch and he creates, now it works.
After having played a couple of games I get the error message; latency to high. Then I create and he can join me... Weird thing, but that's what happened to me.

I don't have this problem any more though. And I've never had it in Diablo II.
