I am getting constant lock-ups during gameplay and even in chat channel. It can occur after 2-3 mins or after 2 hiours...but it will lockup...I have to reset comp seeing as its a complete system freeze.
All my drivers have been updated...no irq conflicts either. Btw use v29.42 drivers only...v30.82 cause problems for nvidia/wc3. re-installed wc3 several times. temp file for windows has been emptied. hd space np...60 gig (20% used) 7200rpm. I have been in contact with blizz support and so far they have no solutions either to this problem. cpu temp well within norms. I have searched all over and tried so many different things I can't even remember all of them. Any ideas guys?
I will try tonight disabling my sound card....come to think about it...video problem or a sound problem...hmmmmmm...Im completly stummped.
 
Have you tried to see if its a heating problem. A good test for that is to open the side and place a fan pointed toward the inside. If the problem stops or becomes less then you know its a heating problem.

Ill try your sugesstion, mind you with 2 fans (1 on cpu and a case fan) I don't think it's a problem. How will lessening the problem be of any help? My lockups are not at a constant time interval. A heat lockup would be at a more constant time interval, no?
 
Have you defragged your hard-disk lately ? Which file system are you using ? I hope you are using NTFS on such a large hard-disk like yours.

I went through the help "menu" Blizzard has posted on their site. Defrag has been done.
 
Heating problem would be very random, and inconstant.
I have a heavy duty fan on my cpu and 4 case fans, plus the vid card fan. And there are times my cpu heat and vid heat still raises. Unless you have an air condition room one case fan may not be enough.
 
I do have air conditioning...but you got me thinking...I'll try your fan thing tonight...I hope your solution is dead on. :p

    I have two salmon, Sockeye and Atlantic. Atlantic is used for the kids salmon and the salmon and beet salad, and can also be added onto any dish or just as a side. Atlantic salmon will almost exclusively ever be FARMED, as it is endangered in the wild, and we ALWAYS cut them to 4 ounces.
