Odd indead. When using the LOD patch found on the diabloii.net, 2 characters remained 1.06. Hooking on to bnet and getting the patch from there fixed it!
Before I patched I was untimely killed in Act V NM. There's a creep lurking around with a name beginning with N ... Quest 4? He whacked me before I could say "What?"
Anyway, when I died, was brutally slaughtered rather, I had a mercenary with me. He died as well and when bringing him back to life, he trots around for a few seconds and then the game goes windows. Corrupt data file something.
Odd? OK, I can probably live with it, but it would be nice to be able to use the feature of hiring a merc.
Any ideas?
