Updated, with SG closer:

Thank you for post :) Try to lower the 'S' so it's even more diagonally closer to the 'G'

Ok nice try changing the font a bit more to militaryish, but apart from that it was great :) If you edit your entry please just edit the post and then write a comment saying you did that in the future :)

I think yours in post number 19, Ranger, is nice. The S, G, and graphic fit in nicely. Maybe move the S and the G closer to each other. And as a logo, you don't really need the background either. But I like the new one, too.

Azareus, cool design again, but the S and the G don't seem unified. The little square in the middle seems to split them apart, so that the S and the G are like separate designs, and not connected. That doesn't mean they have to be like right next to each other, but keep the logo flowing in a direction, perhaps by making the center square the same size as the others.

Just mah suggestions. I don't know why, ha.

Good luck people, :O

Really like the font, in rules it says "graphic design preferably not a scope" =P Cause the scope is so overused not saying your logos are bad, but stick with the rules for higher chance to win :)

I see, I didn't read over it, I must admit. :p

Just throwing this out there, if you want to use it a variety of mediums, you want a logo that is recognizable in black and white or in color, and a bit more simplistic so it can be viewed anywhere.

Don't really understand what you mean :)

A logo should be able to be used in all different color schemes. The designer should create it so that the logo works in black and white, and other colors. It shouldn't just look good in the color the person made it in.
Like for example with the one Ranger just updated, it's in black right now, so that's good. But it should also look well if you put it in another color (which it should, since it's a simple single-color scheme you have there). Doesn't mean it should fit with every color, but the logo should be able to adapt to the client's needs (in this case, you sidove).

Anyway, Ranger, I like this simple variation you have. But I think you should change the font, it seems a bit generic for military styles. Also, I would just use one text - either "SG" or "ScopD Gaming". But it's up to you, :)

General chit-chat
Help Users
  • No one is chatting at the moment.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Actually I was just playing with having some kind of mention of the food forum and recipes on the main page to test and see if it would engage some of those people to post something. It is just weird to get so much traffic and no engagement
  • The Helper The Helper:
So what it really is me trying to implement some kind of better site navigation not change the whole theme of the site
  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air
  • The Helper The Helper:

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
