Drank friday night.

Went out sat night for dawns birthday; went with like 10 people. Stopped at like four bars. Got wasted.

Come home, not tired. We drink more, kill about 14 beers or so, play cards. Wasted more.

Then have to give Dawn ride home.

Talk to dawn for about an hour and a half, then go back home.

Went to bed about 7 am in morning. Slept 3 hours.

Woke up, hungover as hell, very tired. Popped 3 excedrin, 2 glasses water, sun chips, red bull.

Still remember my name and where I live; thats good. Woke up in my own bed - always a plus.

Trained at seminar from 11am-4 (five hours man) Dude is bad ass, hes like pro 23-1 with no amatuer fights even. Kicks harder than you'd beleive. Good seminar.

Went dinner after, 17 people. Two long islands = approx 12 shots.

Doing good now. Heh heh. Early bed tonight.

Later all. Read new stuff here tomorrow.

Then have to give Dawn ride home.
You were drinking and driving? SD_Ryoko, what kind of example is that.

And seriously, that's just wrong. Drunk people never die, just the people they hit.

heh one of these days his update's going to go something like:

Went out last night. Took 4 shots of black death, 8 of sambuca.

Then just started drinking vodka that spilled in an ash tray.

Memory lapsed, don't remember leaving bar.

Woke up, in own bed, that's a plus, but bed also cohabited by a hambeast.

God help me it's waking up

SD drives a motorcycle. I agree that it is wrong to drink and drive but since he is on a motorcycle the danger to himself is greater than that of pedestrians or other drivers. In my opinion.

The bars we go to theres like 50 some people. I never see a taxi or someone just drinking coke - not that I notice anyway. Not anyone in our group to say the least.

Seems usually the people giving the drunks a ride are...only less drunk.

Ya, two wrongs don't make a right but... what can I say.

Everytime I got busted driving afterwards, the cops around here let me go. Ask 1jadedjen about the 'bumpers' story.

Hard to beleive I hear lot of people complain about getting a DUI after 2 beers, after all the times they let me go with more than 10 in me. Makes you not beleive them at all, think they lying about what really happen.

Lot of times officer follow me for like 5 miles on freeway, riding my ass but never pull me over. Just ride on me and watch. Wonder what they doin.

Probably notice you're under the influence, but as you said before, they've stopped you, and let you off.

Maybe they're just watching out for ya. Or other people.

Oh one time I did get busted when I was 18, but my lawyer got it reduced to a speeding ticket

But it did cost me lawyer fees, court costs 4x, etc so it was a little over a grand.

But lawyer is sweet; 4 court dates and I only went once. Laywer usually just go and talk to them, you wait outside or somethin

Plus when you have a lawyer, judge doesn't shit-talk you and insult you; yell at you. MUCH more respect when lawyer standing next to you, unlike all the other times I went to court for petty stuff.

Cities around here DO NOT care about whether or not you get punished; they want your money.

You throw down the money, they leave you alone / back off. They like dat.

MJ and OJ living proof.

Or that, I didn't think of that.

BUT! I dunno about where ya live, but they can pull anyone over just for ASSUMING the person is drunk. They just have to suspect ya, and you're pulled over. If you pass, on your way. You fail, screwed.

So... If they thought ya were drunk and really worried about it, they'd just pull you over and test ya :D Unless this somehow requires a lot of paperwork, which I doubt.

Hell, probably takes more work to arrest ya then just follow ya home and wish you a safer time :P

Yeah thats true. They almost always nice. Cept cleveland cops.

Plus if your not driving on the sidewalk and emergency lane or something dumb, they prolly more leanient.

I got busted like 4-5 years ago doing 145 mph on my bike and went straight to jail. They clocked me at a little less tho, managed to slow down some when I saw the cruiser

But when I talked to the judge, he was cool about it I guess. I was clean and it was late, no cars on the road at the time of the report.

I also told him I didn't apreciate how they pulled guns on me, when I'm just a kid with a fast bike; no drugs/alcohol, no warrents, weapons, or anything.

Cops threaten me to get me to rat out my pack I was with too, told me they'd write me extra tickets like wreckless operation, disregard for life, etc etc if I didn't. But I still kept my mouth shut - like i'd ever do that.

So 150 bucks and I was out the door. He even wrote it off as 15 over, stead of um....85 over?

But unfortunately there is no amount of money that can undo the damage done by a night of drunken abandon with a hambeast, so watch them Ps and Qs!

...Your not setting a good example for 'young people' at this site.

My brother goes to a vollage at Philidelphia. Someone wounce drunk about a 1/2 a bottle of everclear and survived. My brother's one friends throws granola at the drunk people at the tavern/pub/whatever you wish to call it at this hour.

I should be doing homewrok right now...

OhhhhKaaaay I'll step up and tell the Bumper's story.
So
Ryoko, my husband and I went to this pool hall/bar called Bumpers. We drank, shot pool and bullsh***ed all night. We all had a few beers, nothing dibilitating, we were all still talking coherently and walking upright and strait. We had all ridden in Ryoko's car so we all get in with him. He was driving and my husband sat up front with him cause Ryoko's car is TTTTIIIIINNNY and the back seat has like no leg room whatsoever. So guys got the front. As we left, I popped a piece of gum in my mouth (yes this is an important point later...I promise). We were about half way home of a 10 minute drive when Ryoko (in all his wisdom) decided to show off a muy thai (spelling? whatever) move to my husband. In mid move Ryoko's elbow slammed down on the steering wheel jerking the car sharply, but just slightly into the other lane. Don't worry, we were the only car out there...EXCEPT for the cop car which promptly pulled us over. Now, as we were getting pulled over I know know KNOW that if the cop even catches a hint of alcohol on Ryoko he would breathilize him, and while Ryoko wasn't messed up enough to be not able to drive, I didn't think he would pass a breathlizer.
SO
quick thinking
AND YES
EWWWWW but hey, we sibs
I pulled the gum out of my mouth and ordered Ryoko to chew.
Without pause he grabbed the gum and began chewing like crazy.
(shit, I forgot this was a long story)
So
Cop came up, Ryoko lowered his window.
Cop asked Ryoko to explain the jerk, Ryoko said his elbow accidentally hit the steering wheel and jerked the car
Cop asked Ryoko, where ya headed? Ryoko replied home.
Cop said, home from where
Now, in my mind I was thinking
Don'tsaythebar, Don'tsaythebar, for the love of all that is good - don'tsaythebar
Ryoko said
the Bar
DOH!
Thankfully, the cops attention was more diverted (by Ryoko's fresh minty breath!) ok well actually, by my husband. Who was sitting in the passenger seat with his hands held about a foot above his lap.
Apparantly, many years ago my husband was pulled over by a cop in the next town over who had pulled a gun on him because he couldn't see my husband's hands.
So the cop was all like, why you holdin your hands like that?
My husband replied so the cop could see them
The cop said, you hold your hands like that, it kinda makes me think you're up to something, trying to hide something from me.
My husband said, no sir, and told him the story about the other cop.
Turns out, the cops of the town we were in have a little rivalry going with the cops in the town my husband had been pulled over in.
The cop laughed and said to Ryoko
How far is home?
Ryoko said up the road
The cop said, you know what? You guys gave me a good chuckle tonight, I'm gonna let you go, just be more careful driving ok?

I think this story would be boring if it weren't for
A. Good ole fashioned cop rivalry
and
B. The disgustingness of the gum swap
LOLOL

You should have told him to shove the gum wad in his ear and proceed as if it wasn't there. Would have worked as a better distraction than aerial hands.

How often does the Trending Content box refresh?
  • The Helper The Helper:
Also, in the last template there was a seperation between sticky threads and regular threads in the forum
  • Ghan Ghan:
Not sure. It's probably part of a cron job.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Hey Ghan, whatever cron job its part of its not running its been the same for days. If it does not work can we remove it?
  • The Helper The Helper:
    LOL! A tweak job!
  • The Helper The Helper:
this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Next on the punch list: Update the server to Ubuntu 24.04.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Mad Lads is new I see it displays original post date
  • The Helper The Helper:
as long as it changes it is good - it is good now it updated and its new stuff
  • The Helper The Helper:
One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
  • The Helper The Helper:
oh wow, i bet i can post x links now and do the webp pics now giggity
  • The Helper The Helper:
ahh anubis blocks anyone that has javascript turned off
