m830lr motherboard installation, HELP ME!

I just installed a m830lr motherboard. When I power up my cpu fan turns on and I can hear the booting process begin. After 3 to 4 seconds everything shuts off. I can't figure out why. Please help.
 
Msot likely the board has a CPU temperature sensor thing that shuts off the system if the CPU fan is failing (prevent you from melting your CPU)

so---

1) Make sure the CPU HSF (and other fans) are working

2) Make sure the fan's connector that tells the board "I'm working" is connected. (is there even such a connector? If so I've never connected it, hehe)

3) Sometimes the board is not 100% compatible with the fan and it can't always sense it "working". In that case disable the 'auto-poweroff on fan failure' in the BIOS (it should be off by default-- try resetting the CMOS by switching the CMOS reset jumper-- which you will need to look for)
 
I read in another thread that it might be the power supply. I have a 250w power supply. In the thread I need a 350w pwr supply. Do you think that this is the problem? I hope so because it is an easy fix.
 
Well I can tell you that I had the same problem when I was setting up my current system, and it was solved by "Step 3" (see above)

A 250W PS is really borderline between "inadequate" and "low-end adequate" these days. It depends what you are going to put in the system (lots of fans and drives and cards will need MORE POWER *grunts like Tim The ToolMan Taylor*). Moving up to a 300W or better is wise even if its not the solution to your problem.
 
man all these technical terms... when i put up my computer together it's not this difficault...
 
Check if you had connected the fan on CPU FAN 1.
Usually you MUST use this one to connect the cpu fun, or the system wouldn`t star.
