I went to data-> unit-> model-> scale and increased the number by 2 for the x y and z factors
and in the editor, the model looks huge, but in game, the building looks as if it was never changed.

How do I get the model to look bigger in game like it does in the editor?

also how do I remove upgrades from a building, and how do I make buildings sell items?

here is a vid tutorial about heroes that may be of some help for buying/selling items and maybe upgrades (didnt get a chance to go over it much) and as far as increasing the size i believe you also have to change the pathing map or something of that sort, but dont quote me on that just spitballing

You can change the size of a unit in two ways. In the actor and in the model. The building's actor can have different models for in-game and in the editor so in this case, I would just remove the change from the model and apply it in the actor instead and see if that works better.

Removing the upgrades from a building involves going to the building, finding it's research ability and modifying the research abilities info.

The pathing map is unrelated to the visual size of the unit.

To make a building bigger, you must go to the data editor-actor-scale like you did

If you want to have the building twice big as normal then you have to put in 'art scale' x2 y2 z2
After you did this, you have to go to the unit stats-movement-footprints
The footprints of a building will contain the build size

For expample if you make a barracks x2 y2 z2, then you have to put the footprints at 6x6

Removing upgrades from the building is simple, just go to the unit data-ability and remove the buttons by select them and press the red cross to delete them

He basically did all the things you described MissKerrigan. His questions was not how to increase the building footprint but how to change the size of the model.

You're right about the buttons though, but it's not in "unit data-ability". It's in the unit's Ability:command card.

Holy s**t I spent like twenty five hours today on my map, and it crashes without me saving, and I lost all my data. Is there anyway to get it back? I reopened the map and it's the same as before I made any edits.

generally there is a saved file under a temp folder of what you were working on last, but if you reopened already and spent more than 5 mins on it, i believe it would have replaced it already, thats just based on a generic application knowledge, not specific to sc2

then try in the temp sc2 folder, i have one on my computer that was made at install, im guessing it might just be left-over folders from installation but maybe its worth checking if you have one, not even sure where its actually located but its in my start menu

If you open up the editor, go to File > Preferences, then go to the Documents tab and see if Automatically Save Documents has been checked. If it is then you should have a backup file saved somewhere, if not then you might be in a bit of trouble. Have you tested your map in the last little while? Every time you test it also saves your map.

I tested it quite a few times, but I also remade the old map and saved. I didn't test the new map though.
No it's not autosaved :(

I have tested the map I want a bunch of times, but I don't know where that map would be saved.

Holy Sh*t I found it! it was called EditorTestMap. THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
