I am working on a website for my CS 1.6 clan, and I managed to make a pretty nice banner + links. However the rest of the site layout looks pretty bad. How would I go about making it look better? (Eg. should I change the color of the text? Font? Color of borders? Background? Etc.)

Thanks,
Knights:cool:

EDIT: Oops lol forgot link..

it looks nice! but the Cloud render looks boring and dosn't fit in, paint it black and add some other stuff so it dosn't look empty.

konorboy's Idea looks so much better.

Also the text is very edgy and in some places hard to read.

Thanks guys!

I will try a little news tab thingy on the left side now. I might also do similar ones as like, polls, etc.

=D

I will also change the font to something a little easier read.

Thanks,

New, more stable link: http://begfm.bloodservers.com/Website

Tell me what you guys think. I hope it's all right that I pretty much copied your News thing konorboy. <3

If you guys have any other suggestions, I know you all are good at site-making, and I'm not, (this is my first "good looking" site lol..) so tell me! :)

Thanks,

I can't get anything to align properly if the news thing is on the outside..

I change the background to black again, but I think maybe a LITTLE brighter of a black in comparison to the inside black would be nice.

I'll try a few colors.

Also I have this picture (800x1024px) and I'm trying to put it in the main div which has the news and posts in it, but it won't work like the news or posts div..not sure why.

This is the picture:

BMbg.jpg

And this is how I coded it:
PHP:
<div align="center" class="main" style="height: 1026px; width; 802px; margin: 1px; float: center;">
There is also a </div> later of course.

On the style sheet:
Code:
.main{
	width: 802;
	background: url(imgs/BMBg.jpg);
	padding: 15px;
	border: 3px solid #ffffff;
}
BMBg.jpg is the picture I showed you before. Whenever I have this code like this, the background for the main div (with the news and posts) nver shows up.

Thanks,

Yes Rad, that is exactly how I coded it...the image was just corrupt on the ftp server or something, works on my local computer. BegFM.servegame.com seems to work fine with it.

Konor, the white box is just a 3px border of FFFFFF lol is that what you mean?

well then it shouldn't be a problem moving a photo outside, use <div> or CSS.

the Red border would be too much

It looks pretty broken. You're missing a > on one of your <div>'s.

The one above "Posted by: Mash". Actually, the whole page begs for mercy.

If you're going to make it XHTML transitional or strict, put your tags in a valid hierarchy (<html> has to be root and must not appear somewhere in the middle), use short tags, remove that <center>, ...

It's steam:// and not steam//
