I'm thinking of making a tactics based map with several terrain advantages, along with key units that are valubale yet fragile. The general and officers enhace attack and defence, with upgrades to add new abilities and strategies. This will not be close to the game medeival tatics in the way that much of your sucess will be based on what you upgrade and when. Would the fire attack be usefull now? or perhaps the aura for the general that degenerates enemy health and move speed? Would sending my soldiers into a rage win me that battle or a detrimental defeat? Should I build the guard tower at my base, or out at a choke point?
I wan't to make some unique abilities that will define my map, without using a lot of triggers and dummy casters. Like making a bunch of searing arrows fall on one spot dealing damage in a large area.
There are so many options that can go into a map like this, I would like some ideas from the community here at thehelper.net
