Making Heroes out of ordinary units

Well I am starting to know the Editor quite well. I think. But still, I have not found out HOW TO MAKE NORMAL UNITS BECOME HEROES.(and how to make heroes normal units) I think I discovered it once, a couple of years ago, but then I forgot. :banghead:

(By the way, I just got the answer for my other question "How to make Heroes grow over level 10." In this Forum )

You can't make a unit into a hero, you kinda make the hero into a unit.

You base the unit/hero on a hero ( I usually use a paladin for melee and Archmage for ranged), then change the model file to that of the unit. Change other fields as you wish such as the sound sets and you're done.

2. what ya mean I can't turn a unit into a Hero? I've seen many other people doing it. like Footman Frenzy, Enfo's TS, and others. or did I misunderstand your answer?

You misunderstood his answer.

The hero contains extra data that is required to make a hero a hero. To "turn" a hero into a regular unit, the most drastic effect is simply changing its model to that of a regular unit.

From there you tailor the little details to be suitable to the unit you picked (obviously you don't want a footman throwing archmage fireballs for example).
