How can I make spawned units walk only only a certain terrain? Like for example, I want this unit to walk only on cobble path and not on the grass.
How do I do this? o.0

Like for a maul type game?

I've never played any maul games so I have no idea what it is.

So let's say I made a maze with a cobble path. It's the same terrain height as the grass beside it. How can I make units only walk on the cobble path and not on the grass?

Well I'm not sure how to make the grass act as a boundary to just one unit, but you could make the grasses into a region(s) and whenever the unit/type of unit walks in it you move it out? I mean, that won't make a unit go around the grass as if it was an actual boundary.

Is there a way I can trigger them so that they avoid the grass regions? I really want a boundary.
I have 2 regions. Test1 & Test2. I want the units being spawned in Test1 to move to Test2 without being able to go on the grass. The cobble path from Test1 to Test2 is a maze.

Here's my trigger for the "Grass Borders":
Trigger:
  • Events
    • Unit - A unit enters Grass1 <gen>
    • Unit - A unit enters Grass2 <gen>
    • Unit - A unit enters Grass3 <gen>
    • Unit - A unit enters Grass4 <gen>
    • Conditions
      • (Owner of (Triggering unit)) Equal to Player 9 (Gray)
    • Actions
      • Unit - Move (Triggering unit) instantly to (Center of Test1 <gen>)

But the problem is since the path is a maze, they keep going on the grass to take a shortcut. And because of the trigger, they just end up back where they started.

Is there another way?

In the Doodad Palette you can add Pathing Blocker (Air) and Pathing Blocker (Ground) around the grass and cobble. You could put pathing blocker air around all the cobble path and change the units on the cobble path to the air type to restrict their movement to just that path, and same for the grass with ground. Dunno if this is what you want but it's another option for you.

Ahhh thanks!! That worked really well!! :D

I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
