Map Editor Beginner's Help

I'm new to the map editor, and I have an idea to make a Swords and Armor map that is all around better than most that are out there, I want to bring back Tech Defense from the RoC era, and all that jazz, but I'm having a few problems when I dive into the editor and try to learn.

The biggest one I'm having a problem with, and one that I can't find an answer for anywhere, is that I can't find the Frozen Throne Illidian or Rexxar or any of those heroes in the Map Editor. I know it's TFT enabled because I can see the custom abilities, however I can't find the heroes.

I can't find them to place them, and I can't make a custom hero with their look.

I'm sorry if I this has already been posted before, but it's really bothering me and keeping me from what I want to do. Thanks.

are you on RoC or TFT ????

so basically what your saying is ... you want to make a hero that looks like illadin ... aka demon hunter ... well thats pretty easy to help you with just change the *Modile File* to the Demon hunter aka illadin it might take a while to find it but its all in order ... thats what you wanted right ????

- open object editor
- pick the unit you want to change
- change modile file
- and unit sound set
- and the little picture too if you can find it ...

Heroes such as Rexxar and Illidan are found under the campaign section. Look at the pictures below.

Okay, the problem is that I don't have the Campaign units in my editor, under each race there's just Melee, then Units, Buildings, Heroes, and Special. I'm using the TFT version.

Also, when I go to create a custom unit, when I select Orc Campaign for the base unit, there aren't any units to base it off of. It just says "Units: NONE"

how do you select "Orc Campaign" for a base unit? Is "Orc Campaign" a unit ??

if you can't see any campaign folders and you say you have TFT, then you need to check you have patched the game up to 1.17. It is not possible for you to have the latest patch but be looking at a different editor, unless you have some weird and wacky corruption in your data files (which would require a reinstall).

I play TFT all the time, so I assume it's patched up to 1.17, does patching it through B.net patch the editor also?

yes.

do a Ctrl+F in the object editor and type in "Campaign", and see if it finds any campaign folders for you.

Ctrl F didnt find anything, and reinstalling didn't work either. I reinstalled and patched.

Still having this problem, I have reinstalled and re-patched WC3, I have TFT installed, and my editor still does not have the campaign folders with the units for me to use.

Any help would be very appreciated.

This sounds like something you might want to contact Blizzard tech support about. It sounds like something's defective with your installation of WE. Triple-check everything (though I'm sure you already have) and then head to www.blizzard.com and find your way to tech support.
