**Map Making Noob -- please help**

Hi, i really wanna make my own map, i have a few good ideas too. The probel mis -- i have absolutely no idea how to make the maps, ive read the tutorial , but its just jubberish to me, anyone feel like helping?

The easiest way to learn the basics - especially when young - is to try to find it out yourself by experimentating.

Start with the terrain editor, then the object editor, and finally the trigger editor.

yeah don't even think about messing with the AI editor. At first nothing will work with that and you'll only feel like you can't make shit. So try to make something with the terrain editor first, good terraining is, at least I think, the best element of the map (besides the fact that it has to work ).

Try making some melee maps first instead of making a rpg/arena/campaign.

Melee maps only require a good terrain, an starting positions (you should enable the players in scenario -> player properties)

if you want to make the big maps u should find yourself a partner otherwise u will give up cuz its really alot of work

thanks for the advice. Ive jsut made a map , its pretty small but i like it, but i have 3 problems. I need to know how to set a players start position without giving them a town hall + 5 peons, i cant find the option to make all the players allied and i want to know how to giv heroes individual names some1 please help..? If i get help, we might be seing my scenario soon

making players allied:

scenario menu -> force properties

set groups of allied players there. Check the custom settings box first.

To set that no town hall or pesants will apear delete part of map initilization triger that says "create starting units"

thx guys, the map is just about complete now, but ive run into another problem. when the players get defeated, a menu comes up saying:

Quit Campaign
Lower Difficulty
Restart

but i want it to just say:

Quit

that menu comes up for single player. you get a different menu for multiplayer. And you can't control what goes on those menus.
