Map maximum size (kb)

Ok i have a map but i cant play it on the b.net cause its to big i was wondering what the maximum size is? (the size is 4.49 mb) also if thats way to big then any methods of compression the map would be nice

I think it is 4mb. If it isn't it is something around there, but from memory I believe that is correct.

EDIT:

Players can download maps of up to 4 megabytes. Smaller sizes will download faster. Also individual object types are limited:

Destructibles - 6144
Doodads (non-destructible) - 8192
Neutral Hostile (all) + Neutral Passive Units - 512
Neutral Passive Buildings - 96
Player-owned Units - 1080
Player-owned Buildings - 600
Items - 256

The maximum number of custom objects, per type (per Object Editor tab), is 7776 for maps and 5184 for campaigns (12,960 total).

yea probably i was just looking at some other versions and the sizes went up to 3.99 mb lol so then how can i make it smaller without deleting all my imported stuff?

Try the WC3 map optimizer 4.0. I have never used it before so I cant tell you alot about. Make a backup of your map before using it though.

EDIT: wow works grat map size went from 4.49 mb to 3.87 thats smaller than the last ver! thx alot!

3.87MB is still far too much. With that size it takes a lot of time for people to download your map.
Try to get rid of some imports (most notably, imported music/sounds), you don't really need them, smaller map size means more people can get your map and that should be your primary objective.

If the download size is still too large after optimizing, and you don't want to remove/delete any thing in the map (such as imports), then you can try uploading it to epicwar or a similar website (like here =D) where people can easily download your map.
