I go to McDonalds today.

Big sign - you can win a Sony PSP from big macs or large fries. I eat two big macs.

NO GAME PEICE?

Nope. Code on the side of the box. You have to go the a WEB PAGE and key it in. Web page wants your full name, email adress, phone number, date of birth.

Then website tells you, you lost. Taco bell did this recently too. Those assholes! I want a game peice!

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. They send you a CODE, and you go BACK TO WEBSITE..... Ahhhh

There web site probobly gives you a random number, with worse odds than winning the super lotto. I remember McDonalds got sued hard core, because in 5 years no one every won the million from Monopoly. There was no winner.

I bet web site is an EVEN BETTER WAY to keep people from winning. They can hide and cover there tracks 10x better. Even the government would have a hard time determining if you would really win from a web site.

And if they did get audited, I bet they have like 500 FAKE winners, that WORK FOR McDonalds. And if they get in trouble, they say "all these people won - 500 of them. Call and ask!"

Now asshole McDonalds probobly sell my information to telemarketers and stuff. Email spam. Advertisers.

And they'll be like, 'Hey! Didn't you want a PSP? You ate two big macs! YOU LIKE PSP? BUY HERE!!!!"

If I remember correctly, for a while the people in charge of preventing fraud in the McDonald's Monopoly thing actually were defrauding the company themselves and making themselves win the money.

Due to the lawsuit last summer, McDonalds was forced to have a protion for one day, where anyone walking in any franchise was eligable to win 10 grand. And there was a minium required ammount mcdonalds had to spend.

Pretty embarassing. I remeber reading the flyer our McD handed out, that had which day it was, what court case, why, etc.

But get this. The ammount of sales McDonalds made that day from everyone walking in , eager to win the 10K was through the roof.

McDonalds loved it.

Just so you know, when they write "no purchase necessary," and you are required to buy the burger to get the code or something, it's technically legel. They put the code on the wrapper or cup and since you are paying for the contents of the wrapper and cup, you are not required to purchase the containers which acctually hold the consumables and the prize numbers. Therefore, technically, no purchase is necessary and it's legal.

Just goes to show there is no such thing as a free lunch. Never enter a competition to win. Do not file 'win the lottery' as credit//income in your companies budget.

i heard a story like this...well sort of

this lady won a contest on a radio station that said..win a ten grand!....that day she went in, and they said they didnt have her prize...so after 2 more days, she finally goes back in, and the raidio manager hands her a ten grand candy bar...
