Metamorphosis and Hippogryph taming

Is there a way to make Hippogryph taming modify the hero like metamorphosis does. I have heros that both need to be alive in order for a metamorphosis type ability to be executed. I could use just plain hippogryph taming, but I want the new unit to have the same level and skills as one of the original units. I'm not really sure how to use triggers to get this effect, though it may be tedious, I'm pretty sure its very possible.

I'm guessing you're referring to the "mount hippogryph" ability and not the "hippogryph taming" upgrade.

I don't think you can modify it to modify the hero stats, triggers would have to be used. I don't really have the time to explain it right now so pehaps I'll get back to you later.

Yeah, sorry I meant hippogryph mount. I'm trying it with triggers by storing items, experience, skill levels, etc as variables to store them for the new unit created, and then back to the original hero. I'll tell you how it turns out...
