Seacrhers. This is how i've changed my minimap icon...
Firstly I went into game interface and changed the icon under resources to what ever I felt suited. and then used the following line.
Neutral Building - Turn special minimap icon On for SomeUnit

This is not largely important atm, as it's just research.
This is the trigger I have atm. But I don't like it.
Trigger:
- Ping Scrolls
- Events
- Time - Every 60.00 seconds of game time
- Conditions
- Actions
- For each (Integer A) from 1 to 8, do (Actions)
- Loop - Actions
- If (All Conditions are True) then do (Then Actions) else do (Else Actions)
- If - Conditions
- Boolean_GotScroll[(Integer A)] Equal to False
- Then - Actions
- Cinematic - Ping minimap for (All players) at Point_Scroll[(Integer A)] for 5.00 seconds, using a Simple ping of color (100.00%, 100.00%, 0.00%)
- Else - Actions
But seeing the trigger kinda makes it easier for me to explain what i'm after.
I would love a glowing orby type special effect on the minimap, that remains there until the user has visited the locations and done what is needed to be done. Then obviously removing it. (I have never played about with the minimap before)
Pinging the minimap like in the trigger there, just looks poor. But I want the locations to be very obvious.
Any help/advise/knowledge here would be greatly appreciated.
