Minimize map file size

I need to minimize the size of my maps file...It takes to long to dl because it has quite a few custom imports. So im trying to figure out a way to make the file size smaller but keep the same imported stuff. Can anyone help me out?

There are lots of ways, first of all, if you used the image extractor to save your image, try reducing its quality. Also, you may find it helpful to lose a few bits of scenery/units etc.

I find that there are a huge amount of triggers which i dont need. So i get rid of them.

The basic idea is to cut down on things you wont need. Sometimes i find that i dont need that many skins so i lose a few.

If you can get rid of a few things i'm pretty sure that you'll get people downloading your map much quicker than they are now .
There could be a much simpler way which i know nothing of, but if there is, wait a little b4 actually taking this advice

Depending how big it is you can use a map optimizer, which will protect your map as well as making it smaller. Vexorian's Map Optimizer seems to work well.

If your map is really HUGE you will need to remove some imported stuff.

One more tidbit of info to help MINIMIZE MEMORY is:
Modify each existing unit (for example, Night Elf>Archer) to match your modified "custom unit" (for example, Night Elf>Arrow Slinger). Then delete the custom unit. Fewer custom units=less memory required.

Custom imports are already compressed, really. You'll get some out of it, but not alot.

The biggest space saver is all the files the map protectors delete.

In some cases, where a skin takes a lot of space, I half scale its resolution, and save it back in.

1/2 scale = 1/4 of the original file size.

With the map optimizer. When you say "depending how big your map is" does that meen the size of the map or the size of the file?

47 heros modelx
and some things for scenario
but what i realy think
i dont need remove anything i just will post in forums and try to the people of w3 come to forums and dl there....
