Well, with the growing amount of RPGs coming, I scratched my Tales of Tolerot RPG Map since it would only be active for about a week or so then die off. After reading a bunch of Cinematic Tutorials and creating little shows, I have decided to take it a step further. Also, with the models I will get for this Cinematic, I can use for my Warhammer 40k Skirmish maps. Well, I am going to direct my first movie. This will be based on Warhammer 40,000. This takes place during the Dark Crusade. I am 15 years old and hope to become a director. I would like to see what I can do with this.

Story
During the Dark Crusade, a distress signal was sent out from Planet Dun from Victor Sawn, the Commander stationed at the Space Marine Outpost. With the threat of the Imperial Guard growing, Davian Thule, Force Commander of the Space Marines, called upon his Elite Squad, the Night Ravens to be sent to aid. On route to Planet Dun, the Night Ravens ship seems to have a malfunction and crash lands on an unknown planet (Planet Cuin). The Night Ravens, led by Sergeant Kullen Loft, are standed on a snow-covered planet, must find a way to get help. But one question haunts Kullen Loft and his squad... Are they alone?

Filming
We will be creating it on a large map with snowy terrain. There will a tiny room that will not even be 15x15 for the scene where they recieve a distress call and then a little area where they board the ship. When they crash, they will be on a tiny little area where the Night Ravens are on the ship and the camera will sway until they crash. Then the screen will go dark. The rest of the map will be a snowy area.

Script
The script is in the process of proof-reading and editing.

Oh cool I might audition :D
Long time since a cinematic was held here, well sounds fun and good luck with it!

Becoming a director is tough and usually under a lot of pressure
But it is good to start somewhere and I do think this will give you experience in the matter to some extent

Ha, thanks! Yeah, I haven't seem any around here. And yeah, being a director is hard work and a lot of dedication and work. But I do think this will help me with managing a movie and also writing the script as well.

this seems nice

I'm not sure if my voice could fit any of the characters, especially since I have a very weird accent xD

well good luck

Sweet, don't know your terrain. Haven't seem it, but your triggering I know... I think. Anyway, if you want to join the team, that'd be great.

EDIT: Working on the script! Could use some triggerers for the camera movement, and alot of voice actors!

I'll whip up a terrain for an example.

Could you please pick a tile set for me to use?

1 hour long. That script will be about 100 pages. What software are you using for the script? :O
For producer, that would most likely be you. I mean... what funding do you need? Plus, you're the leader of the project, and you're in charge of it all, not that I'd expect you to fire anyone, lol.
You have a lot of jobs that aren't really needed since it's mostly going to be done by one person, and then it can be checked over by others perhaps. Like these jobs: camera placement, units, modelers (there are TONS of WH40K models already out there, like in hive) aren't really needed, unless you're not going to actually touch the map at first, until the end, and just fix it up a bit. Since it's on the computer.
I suggest giving character descriptions for all of them (well maybe not monsters, ha). I could get you a lot of voice actors but they might be strange... and probably not know what WH40K is.
Have you finished a cinematic before?

Anyways, good luck. I also like Warhammer, and I hope you can finish this. Nice to see more cinematics, :D

If I have time, maybe I'll voice act.

Thanks for all of this! Anyway, no there are not alot of Warhammer 40k Models on hive of units. They got the marines, but not the marine commander, so I could use a modeler for some great stuff. I guess not all jobs are needed, but nice to have. I guess I'll get rid of them. Yes I have finished a cinematic, but nothing big like this. Also, it may be an hour or less. I am writing the script atm and I'm at about page 25. You don't need to know about Warhammer to audition, I mean, people do auditions for movies/plays they don't even know about. But they still do them.

Anyway, thanks!

Edit: Using the Celtx program. Free, and easy to use! I recommend it to anyone who wants to write a script/play. It already comes with the format, all you need to do is write, and select the type of thing you are writing (Character/Dialog/Scene/Action and more).

I say that you shouldn't be doing Warhammer, start with a smaller project.

Eh, this will be prolly reduced to 30 minutes or so, then create a sequel. I think Warhammer is a easy thing to start with since all the units and so are already planned out instead of creating a whole new thing. Also, I like warhammer and have a good website for lore and such!

Whoa, a movie?

Even for a 15 year old you could probably pull this off, but the quality of it I'm not too sure.

If I had a working mic (5 broken ones) I would audition for a space marine.

Well, this is my first movie, so it won't be perfect. But I will try to make it as best as I can.

I'm not quite happy of the way some of these turned out, but meh. If you want me to do them over, I'll do it.

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
