mp demo probs!

sorry ! but here goes!
ok i open up the demo, use name, look thru servers, connect to a server...
so the map is loadin with the picture of the planes and the boat... and then it just exits to desktop and i hearthe windows ding!
yeah ive tried changing desktop to 800x600 and i have an NVIDIA Geforce2MX
 
yeh i have same problem
also very flikkery screen at setup
i also have a gforce2mx and have tried 16 bit 32 bit also changed the vidsetup line as suggested to
renderer.hwProgramableTransferEnabled 0
still have the same problem
was running w2000 with this graphics card and had no probs with singleplayer demo
maybe its 98
might try the detonator driver who knows
 
Update all your drivers, including DirectX. Also, what do you guys have for a northbridge chipset?
 
well northbridge as far as iknow is a suburb near nth sydney

re drivers i have most all latest
except my graphics card which works best on drivers supplied [ had a lot of probs gettin gl to work otherwise] for cs and dod
but i had this card on a w2000 setup and it played the single player demo bf1942 at 1600x1200 perfect
maybe i go back to win2000
i have also tried a suggested fix in videodefault file
renderer.hWProgramableTransformEnabled 0
this made no difference to my flikkering prob or it dropping to windows when loading map
 
I saw some people with pretty much the same problem -- they would get dropped back to the desktop while connecting to a server -- and they all had KT133 chipsets, which is why I asked; but if you have a P3 (the second guy), that's not your problem (yes, there is a way around the KT133 chipset problem).

It sounds like a driver-related problem, though. I would update all your drivers (reinstall them if you have the newest drivers already, starting with the motherboard), and then update/reinstall DirectX.

gonna reformat and go back to 2000
let ya know the outcome
 
reloaded w2000
no problems except had to go get msvcp60.dll
works great

    Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.

    Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.

    Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

    That's the main thing with Anubis - no Javascript, no site. Typically you can still get the site to load without Javascript.
