Mpq Herrrrrlp!

I need my map MPQ to go above 64 files. For some reason the MPQ caps at 64 files and wont let me add any more.
This is a problem cos i cant fit all my custom information in, and hence the map doesnt work.
Is there any way i can increase the number of files i can have?

Just for a noob like me can you clarfy what MPQ means for me

There is rumoured to be a trick in WinMPQ for doing this.

An MPQ is where all the games information is kept. Your spell information, unit information all that stuff.

For those of u lucky enought o be running TFT you need not be interested in it. I am on RoC tho, which means my WE hasnt got a lot of the features on the TFT editor.
So in order to make custom spells/units etc i have to delve into the MPQ, and the .slk files and text files inside. I have to change these then impliment them in the WE.
Then once that is done i have to import them into my map.
this is where the problem is, using my map as an MPQ (think of it like a zip) and is only letting me import 64 files in it. (a normal MPQ such as in ur W3 folder can have thousands) yet for my map .w3m its clipped at 64.

I need more space, or ill have to start deleting my map

(although i am taking steps to fiddle so its not so bad)

That sucks, you dont have TFT? Wow, how many features are not there in that editor?

I do have TFt but im part of a big RoC gaming community here in europe so im shaping this mod for RoC

thanks for your concern, but im at university so i have plenty of free time (its not like i do any work)

They had 3 unopened wc3 tft games at a nearby pawn shop for 7 bucks a piece, some were just cd cases (Woot cdkeys! ) for 3 bucks

I don't know about winmpq but .

CReate a new mpq file and specify it to use 128 or 256 files. then move the files of the other mpq to the new mpq

I can't tell you exactly but it might be possible to create sub-mpqs inside your map and stick files inside those. How you would access or reference them, I have no idea.
