multiple level maps

i have no idea what all this talk about bound maps and wanting to do stuff on different levels of the map is about. can you create more then one level (like with system videogames) in them? if so, how?

Levels mean once you beat one obstacle, you go on to the next, so the "move" from one location to the next can be classified as a level change.
