I want music from my CD's onto my map, working. Unfortunately, they are neither MP3's, so I am looking for any advice on how to make CD music available for WC3 maps.
Its free and records quite well... once you have the mp3 file, you will also notice that it can be quite large..
In order to reduce its size, you will want to lower the quality of the recording.
If you have software that can change bitrates etc thats greate.. I recommend VBR or Variable Bit rate as it reduces the most and maintains good integrity of the music.
Alright, thx. Got some tight music (FF7's one winged angel, Linkin Park's origional Numb) on my music list, and it only takes up 4.2 mbs (compared to the 10.7)!
Not to mention the map would be impossible to play on BNet.
4.0 is the limit although it might possibly accept 4.1 or 4.2. But 4.2mb is the music alone, and when you add on the actual map size then that's definately not playable on BNet.
Well, you can either go to BNet and try to host it & see if it comes up an error.
Or you can go to your file within the folder (non-warcraft. I'm talking about something similar to "C:\\Program Files\Warcraft III\Maps\Download" and right click the file and go to properties. In there, you can see its exact filesize.
Guys just a heads up I am going to be shutting the site down soon. I am just waiting on the NUON people to decide whether they want to transfer forum data and keep the discord. My email is [email protected] for anyone that wants to keep in touch and I have a facebook too. I will make an official post later. Love you guys and will miss everyone!
I'd rather personally just own a backup of the Nuon data than see it go to AtariAge honestly. If it gets enshittified as per usual, or if some of the "regular" Jaguar folks get there, it's not gonna be fun
