The problem is it doesn't keep track of kills. So any help would help :)

You need a seperate trigger to update the kills, that would add +1 to the attacking unit's owner's kills.

I need a trigger to recognize who the attacker is that killed a specific unit and to reward him with the kill point added to his score in the multiboard.

If you downlaod Senkin's Multiboard you will find it, it's in the multiboard tutorial and the free trigger code thread.

Thanks, and he is right.

The kills counter is in there just add a condition to a unit type or whatnot.

Ok a few things, for all of the lines of "Set style of Multiboard row X, column X to Show Text, Hide Icons"... Just replace all of those with one line that has "0" as both the row and column number. This is make it effect the whole multiboard.

And yes a seperate trigger is need for to update the kills (as was pointed out). Here's a quick little trigger that should do it. You will need an integer variable (as an array) for each thing you want to track with the size equal to the number of players.

Trigger for a kill point awarded for killing any type of unit.
Code:
EVENTS: A Unit (Dies)

CONDITIONS: //Check for (Event Response - Killing and Dying Unit) here, and make sure they are of the right type. Or leave blank for any type of kill.

ACTIONS:
-Set tmpPlayerNum = Player Number of (Owner of Unit(Event Response - Killing Unit))
-Set Kill_Count[tmpPlayerNum] to Kill_Count[tmpPlayerNum] + 1
-Set Multiboard Text row 2, Column (tmpPlayerNum + 1) to Kill_Count[tmpPlayerNum]

Firstly, it would be great if you use [ CODE ] [ /CODE ] tags to show the code

Secondly, I'm stunned with some things...

Multiboard - Set the text for (Last created multiboard) item in column 1, row 3 to ((Name of Player 2 (Blue)) + |r)
...
Didn't understand why you are using "Pick every player" loop and then set the names in the multiboard inside the loop.
If there where 8 players, this code would set 8 times every row.
Put all the "Multiboard - Set text for... (Name of Player...)" before the looping, or have only one inside the loop that shows the player name for the picked player.

Same as the previous quote. As Laika said, use the "column 0" or "row 0" feature, and don't put it inside a "Pick every player" loop beacuse you aren't taking use of the "Picked player" feature (And you've been setting every cell up once for every player)

I didn't understand a thing of what this does...
You are using (Integer A) outside an integer loop
(but inside a Pick every player loop)

Set Multiboard_Spots[(Number of players)] = (Last created multiboard)
...
You'are setting the same variable inside an array with the last created multiboard (always the same multiboard) and always the same index ("Number of players" doesn't change between loop iterations)

...
Same thing as others. If an action doesn't take advantage from being in a loop, move it outside the loop.

About your question, follow Laika's advice, you need a separate trigger to do the update work. :)

Yes, no offense to the original poster, but that is the most recidulously redundant code I've seen. o_o

I think i can do what you want in about 1/20th the space... Here it goes:

Code:
SETUP PLAYER NAMES

EVENTS:
Map Initialization

CONDITIONS:

ACTIONS:
---Gives Player Names Color---
Set - Player name for Player 1 (Red) to |cfff0000 + Player Name of Player 1 (Red) + |r
//REPEAT FOR ALL PLAYERS

Code:
CREATE MULTIBOARD

EVENTS:
Time - Elapsed game time is 1.00 seconds

CONDITIONS:

ACTIONS:
---Create---
Multiboard - Create a multiboard with 3 columns and 11 rows, titled Kills

---Display Style---
Multiboard - Set the display style for (Last created multiboard) item in column 0, row 0 to (Show) text and (Hide) icons
Multiboard - Set the display style for (Last created multiboard) item in column 1, row 0 to (Show) text and (Show) icons

---Size---
Multiboard - Set the width for (Last created multiboard) item in column 1, row 0 to 9.50% of the total screen width
Multiboard - Set the width for (Last created multiboard) item in column 2, row 0 to 5.20% of the total screen width
Multiboard - Set the width for (Last created multiboard) item in column 3, row 0 to 5.00% of the total screen width

---Labels---
Multiboard - Set the text for (Last created multiboard) item in column 1, row 1 to (Player Name)
Multiboard - Set the text for (Last created multiboard) item in column 2, row 1 to (Captains Killed)
Multiboard - Set the text for (Last created multiboard) item in column 3, row 1 to (Ships Killed)

---Player Names/Stats---
For every integer A from 1 to 10 do the following (actions)
Loop - Actions

Multiboard - Set the icon for (Last created multiboard) item in column 1, row (Integer A +1) to (ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNZombie.blp)
Multiboard - Set the text for (Last created multiboard) item in column 1, row (Integer A +1) to (Name of Player(Convert Player Number to Player(Integer A)))
Multiboard - Set the text for (Last created multiboard) item in column 2, row (Integer A +1) to (Captain_Kills[Integer A])
Multiboard - Set the text for (Last created multiboard) item in column 3, row (Integer A +1) to (Ship_Kills[Integer A])

End Loop

Multiboard - Show (Last created multiboard)

Code:
KILL TRACKER

EVENTS:
Unit - A Unit (Dies)

CONDITIONS:
---Tracks Kills Made By Human Players Only---
(Player - Controler of Player (Owner of Unit(Event Response - Killing Unit)) equal to (USER)

ACTIONS:
---Find Player Number of Killing Player---
Set tmpPlayerNum = Player Number of (Owner of Unit(Event Response - Killing Unit))

---Add to the right type of kill---
If Conditions are True to Then Actions, otherwise do Else Actions

If - Conditions
(Unit - Unit-Type of (Event Response - Dying Unit) equals to CAPTAIN

Then - Actions
Set Captain_Kills[tmpPlayerNum] to Captain_Kills[tmpPlayerNum] + 1
Set Multiboard Text row 2, Column (tmpPlayerNum + 1) to Captain_Kills[tmpPlayerNum]

Else - Actions
Set Ship_Kills[tmpPlayerNum] to Ship_Kills[tmpPlayerNum] + 1
Set Multiboard Text row 3, Column (tmpPlayerNum + 1) to Ship_Kills[tmpPlayerNum]

End If

Thats all the triggers you need for you multiboard setup.

PS. Yes, i was bored ^_^

Multiboard - Set the text for (Last created multiboard) item in column 1, row (Integer A +1) to (Name of Player(Convert Player Number to Player(Integer A)))

How do you get Name of Player? I can only get Name of Triggering Player to the closet to that.
----------------------------------------------------------
Set Captain_Kills[tmpPlayerNum] to Captain_Kills[tmpPlayerNum] + 1

What do you need for the variable "tmpPlayerNum" to work for both the above trigger and the below trigger?

Set PlayerNum = (Owner of (Killing unit))

It is "Name of <Triggering Player>" right? (I can't check the editor right now, but I hope it is =p)

If it is click the <Triggering Player> and select <Convert - Player Number to Player> (or something like that) and the it should say Player(<1>). Click the <1> and scroll up to the top and select <For Loop Integer A>.

I really hope thats right...

Also, in the last template there was a seperation between sticky threads and regular threads in the forum
  • Ghan Ghan:
Not sure. It's probably part of a cron job.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Hey Ghan, whatever cron job its part of its not running its been the same for days. If it does not work can we remove it?
  • The Helper The Helper:
    LOL! A tweak job!
  • The Helper The Helper:
this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Next on the punch list: Update the server to Ubuntu 24.04.

Mad Lads is new I see it displays original post date

One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
  • The Helper The Helper:
oh wow, i bet i can post x links now and do the webp pics now giggity
