My Nuon DVD N-501 loading issue

I just ordered a nuon dvd player from ebay. Everything seems to be in working order including the remote I bought separately. But the dvd player will not load discs. It is stuck on the loading screen indefinitely for everything i put in the disc drive.

Any clue what this could be and any clue how I could fix it?

when that happened to mine I had to sway the drive out in the unit

I'd return it for a full refund if I were you. Sounds like the laser is shot. @midnight8 is right that these players can be repaired by swapping out disc drives with one from a donor player, but in your situation, backed by the eBay Money Back Guarantee, I'd get a refund. That's assuming the seller indicated it was in working order, of course.

Well it seems to work eventually and then continues working, but every time i try to start it up it takes a few tries. I'll look into a replacement drive for the future. I'm going to be using the nuon VLM pretty consistently, don't want it t burn out.

I agree, I would talk to the guy about a refund, there are a couple more dvdn501's available on ebay right now

Yes there are multiple on the market right now. I would wait of or throw the seller a offer for maximum of $100 with shipping included if it does not come with the remote/manual or the orignal box. paying $100 for the console alone is a little much, plus if you wait people post between 1-3 players every 2-3 weeks. So if you/people wait the market will get saturated then the sellers will be throwing offers out left and right. Just happened like around 2 months ago, then people went crazy and bought all of them up. But now there's more players on the market.

I bought mine super cheap by waiting for a bid and offers. Someone won a bid for about a month or so ago for 35 + 20 shipping ridiculous deal.

I just had the problem come up for myself. I was using the VLM and then I shut it off when I was done. The next time I tried to use it my player it stayed on load and would not eject the disc. How did you sway the disc drive open? did you have to open the machine to get to the internals?
