Need Advanced Router Help

I am REALLY having trouble getting my router set up to allow people to join my custom games - quit giving me that message where you tell me the ports...that much is clear...I need to know more details...do I enable ALL of those ports? Anyone experienced with a LINKSYS router? Where do you add those little "out" and "in"s? Explain what you're saying - don't just say it.

To setup port forwarding on a Linksys router:

1. Go to the configuration webpage of the router.
2. Click on the "Advanced" Tab.
3. Click on the "Port Forwarding" Tab.
4. RTFM (or RTFOH - Read the Fine *cough* Online Help)

That should get you straightened out.

I have no idea what game you are talking about, but if it's a particular Blizzard game, then just do what they tell you. For example, if you need to enable 6112 TCP, then enable TCP for port 6112. If you need to set a range of ports, then do that.

me too...except i have a d-link router

i have the same problem...my game doesnt show up when i am playing warcraft 3....also my friends game doesnt show up....i have no clue about firewalls and junk....and i have been trying to play with my warcraft3 buddy but cant because of something called a game port 6112? i went to internet connections and made sure the firewall was diabled and it was...so it might be my router...mines a dl-604...a d-link router....and i went to the firewall tab and its too complex for me...so anyone who has a d-link router and can play warcraft 3 with your buddies online with your OWN game...please help me out

Ok, I'm sorry but this snippet of the above post deserves this.

If it's too complex, then why in the world did you buy it in the first place? Because everybody else has one? Seems like a waste of money to me if you buy something and then can't operate it.

RTFM for the router. Usually online documentation, or documentation from the manufacturer's website has screenshots.

Routers are not that complex if you have the slightest clue about what is going on.

Ok, I'm done ranting. Carry on.
