Networking: SMC1244TX NIC and EZ switch problems.

Hi all. Here's my problem, I posted a subject relating to networking sometime before but cant seem to find it. Anways, I finally got around to getting my sis's computer (WinME, 300Mhz,)
on the top floor of the house. I want to connect both of them so an internet connection (DSL) can be shared between the two. I bought an SMC Network Starter Kit and hooked everything up.

My comp (Win98, direct con to ISP, and 350Mhz AMD) is fine with the new NIC along with the internal DSL modem. But the WinME machine doesnt seem to have any connection to the Win98 machine. I ran home networking wizard on both machines and WinME will not display any computer/client. The Win98 machine is fine, displaying the name of the Win98c comp. So it seems that WinME either is not fully compatible with this card or is it some kind of hardware problem (bcuz WinME automatically recognized the card but Win98 required a manual driver install. The Win98 had the SMC EZ Card Protocol under Network Nieghborhood but WinME had automatically selected a RealTek driver). If any of you require any more information, just ask. why not use the internet sharing on win ME sounds like tons easier

So i take it that i cannot have the Internet connection direct to Win98 but rather to WinME. Ill try that.
